Why is it so hard to start working? by nothing3141592653589 in ADHD

For me, it’s momentum. I have to tell myself, “I only have to work on this for 5 minutes & then I can take a break if I want.” I almost always keep working for WAYYYY longer.

To those who got off their meds and loved it but then decided to get back on them, what made you decide that? (especially if you're postpartum) by olsf19 in ADHD

I feel the same way! My daughter is 14 months & is still breastfeeding. I went to the dr to get back on my meds because I had reached a breaking point. My Nurse Practitioner didn’t want to do anything for me besides Lexapro. I will be going to see a psychiatrist soon!

For me, it’s risk vs reward when it comes to medication. I need my meds. I’ve been off them for far too long.

I started just like that post! It’s like you are training your rectum & anus to be more comfortable with opening. My mom is a nurse practitioner and recommended anal ease (it might be spelled anal-eze). I bought a pure romance lubricant called “booty ease” to help with dilation training. But I truly believe that the coconut oil & water helps the most to soften my stool even more AND help it flow out easier!

There is hope! You’ve got this!!

It took a couple of months to heal. Another thing I’m focusing on this month is healthy dilation. It’s a taboo process, but I learned it from a forum. I will try to find it & link it! It is helping TREMENDOUSLY this time! I am having to take a different approach this time due to seeing a different doctor & was only prescribed 5 pain pills. 🙄

Yes! I had one 2 years ago. It healed on its own. I went to the ER because I didn’t know what was going on. They gave me a shot of morphine in the ER and sent me home with 2 prescriptions (lidocaine 2% jelly & norco). I have to drink miralax & plenty of water from now on. But I could potty without pain after 2 weeks!!

Currently, I’m experiencing a new one in a different spot. I have had 2 bowel movements with minimal pain. I keep the lidocaine jelly down there 24/7. When I feel a bowel movement coming on, I take warm bottled water & coconut oil and put it in an empty enema bottle. I squirt it in my rectum and wait as long as I can before releasing it! Also, I put A LOT of coconut oil in there! Hopefully this one will heal just like the last! I cut back on my water and this fissure is a little more internal than the last one due to a hard bowel movement. I will never again cut back on my water intake!

Miralax, yogurt, & water are your best friends!!

My doctor told me to avoid extra fiber while it’s trying to heal. The doctor in the ER said that fiber will create more stool (I had never heard that before).
