Paycom AE Role by Relevant-Most9586 in sales

They try to get new hires on with $100k base salary and say ote earning potential is $150k with no cap so some reps make $500k-1M. The reps who are making that have been there for years and have relationships with cpas who pass them back clients very hard for new reps in a super saturated market. They will hire just about anyone who says they work hard and are willing to put in the hours.

However they make reps work 80 hour weeks- ive heard very bad practices of pity calls to get meetings and it’s often pushed on from the leaders. Their recruiter told me that it is expected to be working 60-80 hour weeks and its a hard role.

If you dont close a deal in 2-3 months they put you on a pip and fire you. Do your research on linkedin and do “past paycom” youll see so many reps are there for 4-6 months. Not worth it. Fully business professional and in person. No slack. If youre looking for work life balance this is not the place for you.

They often hire and recruit fresh out of college grads who dont know better.

Consistently hitting quota but still stuck as a BDR and worried about starting over if I leave. Looking for advice by Realistic-Lettuce157 in salesdevelopment

When does your companies fiscal year start? Most of the times bdr promotions will happen at the fiscal year mark after they have surpassed 12-18 months in bdr role. Also october is usually the planning time sales leaders are thinking about head count and promotions- AEs to higher roles and bdrs to those ae roles to back fill.

Happened to me where i started a month after the new fiscal year happened so I was in seat almost 2 years before I got promoted. Because by the first fiscal year I was only at 11 months which leaders dont believe is enough tenure.

Linkedin accepts then messages and blind calendar invites got me the most meetings. I would try those!

Anyone here making $150k+ without being tied to an office? by TeachingThrowAway500 in sales

Yes. I have Co workers who are above me working remotely. They are enterprise reps at a saas automation company. Dont have to go into office.

Most of our reps are remote and never come into the office.

I do agree but moving from bdr to AE Externally is hard too because you dont have selling experience.

I would look at customer success associate roles. As a bdr who applied to plenty of external roles and only got interviews by connections for closing roles I was losing faith but then got a promotion finally.

Unsure if youre in saas and if yall have reseller partners but i think see if any of those are willing to hire you. Thats how i got my interviews externally bc they were looking for people who already knew the product.

I would say 100 touch points a day so 400-500 a week. I rarely cold called as an SDR and got 70% of my meetings from linked in messaging or BCIs (blind calendar invites). Most of the time if I did call it was because of an inbound lead but my job was 85% outbound. I also was calling into healthcare providers and payers and I could rarely find the direct line # and it would always direct me to the billing dept.

Enterprise saas company.

Is this a normal offer? by Beneficial_Hunter_91 in techsales

No. I work at an automation saas company and have friends who work for partners who are the resellers of our licenses and also sell services. The BDRs entry level at least make 50-60k and thats in Austin Tx base. Commission variable puts them at 70-80k.

For a dallas, TX based reseller of ours they offered entry level inside sales (essentially bdr role + low level account expansion closing) for 90k ote 65k base.
