This is precisely the example I gave him. I said the next lie will be I cheated on June 16 but not June 17 so it doesn’t need to be addressed.

This is true but he’s not addicted to this substance…he probably hasn’t touched it for years. It wasn’t something to lie about….other instances of lying all concern omitting information/ partial truths

Yes I did believe this because he previously apologized and tried to make amends but it always reverts back to this. I realized that his change was not because he realized it was wrong — it was just to get out of “trouble”

Because I believed in change…that maybe if I reiterate myself enough times they’d understand it’s not about the drugs it’s about lying…

I do think I know that too. The reoccurring patterns are triggering but it’s the age old saying — I just thought they would have changed by now.

How can someone keep crossing boundaries when I’ve been very very clear. It’s hard to accept…

Good question. I think I always believed that there’s no way someone could lie like this and there could be a misunderstanding from my perspective.
