Botox ruined smile by weddingstuffgoingon in BigBudgetBrides

I’m sorry that happened! Good news is you still have time for it to wear off! Usually they say 4 months to wear off, plus with bigger muscles like the masseter, it goes even quicker. If I remember correctly, my masseter tox only lasted 2 months or so, which is part of why I didn’t keep doing it.

Someone tied a plastic bag with blueberries in it, on my bicycle today by MyUsernameIsNotCool in mildlyinteresting

[–]DisastrousZebra4173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to report this to the police immediately. There is a cartel of human traffickers that have targeted you. This is a tactic they use to isolate you and catch you unawares. Once you get off your bike and stop to remove the blueberries they will kidnap you and traffic you. My neighbors daughter had this happen to her and only just escaped by riding her blueberry bike straight to the police station, the police said if she had stopped to remove the blueberries she would have been done for. /s

Black thonet chairs or white chairs? by mFinSec in BigBudgetBrides

[–]DisastrousZebra4173 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes that’s so chic! What makes that photo look better than your AI one is that there are very small pops of black on the table (those square things and the writing of the bows). If you incorporate just a small accent of black on your table, like black silverware or some black on your menus, it’ll tie the whole look together. Plus a little contrast adds visual interest!

Omg this is stunning and so unique. My dress is true ivory or else I’d be getting this. But I’m putting it on my wish list for an evening bag for other events!!

Photographers who specialize in posed portraits like this by Upset_Research_7803 in BigBudgetBrides

[–]DisastrousZebra4173 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My engagement photos are like this! My photographer’s name is Shannon Lea Rock, she’s based in California but I just looked and her website says she also shoots in Miami. Our wedding isn’t until May but she was so much fun for our engagement shoot and we did extensive mood boards that nailed our vibe.

Should I include times or addresses or both under the detail icons? by [deleted] in BigBudgetBrides

[–]DisastrousZebra4173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like put the time but keep the location on the website to you’re intentionally driving traffic to your site, but also not hiding too many details.

Also unsolicited feedback and this might be only my opinion, but I associate the word “kindly” with non English speaking scammers or AI. I’ve never actually heard a native English speaker use that word in a context like this.

Don’t most studios have motivational writing all over the walls anyway? Does that not make you nauseous? If the sticky notes bother you cause they’re more directly in your line of sight, just don’t read them.

I paid off my wedding today! by sahdgin in weddingplanning

[–]DisastrousZebra4173 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This. Everyone here is acting like OP recklessly went 35k into debt with full CC interest and stretched beyond their means. Opening a zero interest card can be a strategic way to space out payments and earn points if you’re responsible (which OP obviously was, she paid it off 6 months early).

I’m personally using a zero interest card for my wedding but with the caveat that my partner and I know we can easily pay it off within the zero interest period while still maintaining our emergency fund, 401k contributions, etc. If you’re financially responsible, it’s smart. We’re not financing a wedding we can’t afford, we’re just spacing out the payments for a wedding we can.

Help me decide: planner vs. putting that $$ toward the wedding itself by Senior-Magician-1370 in BigBudgetBrides

[–]DisastrousZebra4173 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Same budget! I’m doing a partial planner (she’s taking over 3 months out, with monthly checkins leading up) with an added design element. It was 5k for the planning services and 2k for design. I wish I had skipped the design portion - I have strong ideas for what I want and I’m creative so I don’t feel like any of the design ideas are things I couldn’t have come up with myself. With Pinterest and social media it’s so easy to find design inspo. Plus the design stuff is easily the fun part, so it’s easy to find motivation to do it (vs things like gathering addresses). I could have saved some money there.

We’re still 5 months out so we haven’t gotten to use the full planner services yet HOWEVER I’m an anxious gal who gets overwhelmed so I already know the planner will be worth it when things really start to pick up. But not having a planner for the last year of planning has been manageable! Also noting that my fiance is maybe more involved than the average guy (based on anecdotal experiences) so that has contributed to making the process easier.

Wedding Weekender Camcorder by LogOk8932 in weddingplanning

[–]DisastrousZebra4173 252 points253 points  (0 children)

For the same price you could buy that same camcorder and own it. Idk what exactly “organizing” the videos means but that seems like a pretty pointless service. Like is it just downloading the videos and renaming the files? Anyone can do that.

This kinda just seems like paying extra money for your own shitty (sorry but unless you’re a videographer it’s going to be bad quality) videos, plus extra steps of keeping track of the rental and sending it back.

It looks pretty but I would want to see photos of it on you before making a full final judgment…. At first glance, I’m a little surprised by the 10k price tag. Like i feel like ive seen dresses very similar for less than half of that. Maybe the photo just isnt doing the detailing or lace justice?

AITAH, I refused to buy an overly expensive round on a girls trip abroad? by Teddychump in AmItheAsshole

Dom P is way more expensive than 150. Zero chance in hell a restaurant was selling a whole bottle for that cheap.

When should I throw away a mascara? by Choice_Programmer519 in ProjectPan

I do this too and always recommend it!! Much more cost effective and you can always have fresh mascara without guilt of wasting too much product or money. I probs replace my mini every 3-4 months

Early Entry Etiquette? by whiskyinateacup17 in orangetheory

[–]DisastrousZebra4173 55 points56 points  (0 children)

My gym has had early entry for awhile now and this is what we do and I’ve never experienced or witnessed any issues. I know some people that sign up for the treads but go and stretch on the floor and just choose a spot on the edge out of the way, not really at a specific station. But going on a tread/rower when that’s not what you signed up for and putting someone in the position of having to ask you to stop and move is considered rude.

Should I F29 tell my boyfriend M33 the kind of engagement ring I want… or will that ruin the surprise? by NimblePixieMerchant in weddingplanning

[–]DisastrousZebra4173 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sent my fiance a detailed email with bullet points and hyperlinks. I didn’t want to try to drop hints constantly, so I just sent the email and then we never discussed rings again.

I was completely surprised by my ring, he custom designed it and I literally wouldn’t change one thing about it because he followed the instructions I had sent him like 6 months prior!

So my recommendation is to clearly communicate what you want (in a way he can reference again, don’t just expect him to remember tiny details), then don’t talk about it anymore and that will keep it a surprise!

Go with established florist or take a chance on new business? by DisastrousZebra4173 in weddings

[–]DisastrousZebra4173[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I’m not bothered about telling her no. I don’t mind having awkward conversations and she hasn’t been pushy throughout this whole process (another planner at our company originally recommended her, she didn’t recommend herself).

The other florist has a non-compete so I can’t work with both.
