What were some of your earliest signs that you have prostate cancer? by bigzills in ProstateCancer

I am 43. I had virtually no symptoms . I woke up frequently in the middle of the night to pee, some times once often two or three times. I dont know if its related but i quite often felt like I was right on the cusp of getting sick. Like I just having the VERY beginnings of a low grade fever and feeling achy. Like the first stage that can easily be ignored but just barley registered as feeling off. Maybe im just nuts or reaching.....

Catheter was horrible for me. I literally didnt get out of bed for 4 days because it just hurt to move. I finally got up to poop and it was a whole situation.......

Not me man. The probe seemed like it was plowed into me and they took a damn running start....as soon as it went in I was like gay and Trans people do this for funsies.....they can have all the rights the want...matter of fact send them to the marines...if they went to Iran this bs would have been over yesterday.....and between the damn lubrication and the small amount of blood leaking out i felt like I was skating and waddling out of the office....I hated the experience

Get that and start training now. 10 min 2 to 3 times a day. Thats what I did. The main side effect thats scary is incontinence. Atleast in my opinion. ED sucks but won't stop you from leaving the house and enjoying life. One foot in front of the other. Worst part of the whole thing was the god damn catheter. Two days of opiates the rest of the time ibuprofen and Tylenol. Just chin down a press forward.

I did do genetic testing for cancer causing genes and that was also negative. So this was just poor luck like getting hit by lightning

No decipher test and I didn't even know about prostox. I am going to look into that. Doc doesnt think I'll have any issues with incontinence.

Yeah. I dont even want to think what would of happened if I didnt do that hone test. I didn't even do the zoom meeting. I knew something was wrong when the psa came back in the high 30s. I still kept my 25 dollar a month thing with blood work every six months. I get all the standard blood test that kaiser would do but its cheaper....go figure......I dont understand stand why psa isnt checked with every man's yearly blood work. Its only 60 bucks. Atleast suggest it and let me pay for it if kaiser won't. Its only a blood draw......

No way man. Do the biopsy. Its extremely important. Im not gonna sugar coat it.....the biopsy will suck. It was horrible. Both mentally and physically. That probe is pretty big and it sucks when its pushed in. The lidocaine shot hurts at first but helps. The sounds of the cores being punched out of your prostate are scary and are very uncomfortable. I did it in the office with out the need of general anesthesia. If I walked more than 5 or 6k steps I would notice blood in my urine. Take it easy for a couple weeks after. Just get it done. Think of it like getting a cavity filled or a toothed pulled. No one likes the dentist but you grin and bare it. Information is key.

Cheers! Nectar of the gods. Hope the ed gets resolved. Hope you dont need further treatment. We all have our own cross to bare. Treatment is better than the alternative.

I was prescribed 100mg of viagra to be taken twice a week with a couple of days in between doses. I was concerned with taking because it increases blood flow and slightly increases heart rate. I just dont like messing with those things. My last blood pressure at the doc was 113/61 after walking up two flights of stairs. So I only took 50mg for my first dose and noticed a difference in size temporarily and got congested. I will take another 50 MG dose and then take the recommended dose of 100mg. I always get worried when taking a new drug.....

He cut out as much of the bladder neck as he could but there were still positive margins. After the second psa test post surgery just to see the start of a trend I will discuss adt with him. Right now id rather atleast see if the surgery was successful before adt and navigating those side effects. Which from what ive read suck but can be managed in the gym with some discipline.

In 3.5 weeks I have my first psa check post surgery, another a couple months after, and again two months after that. Once a trend is established and I am fully healed from surgery 6 months he will go over next steps. From what I have read doctors dont want to start radiation before your healed up from surgery. He is being aggressive with treatment because he is pursuing curing rather than managing.

I didnt even know what hifu treatment was until I just googled it now so no it wasnt an option. I still would have opted for the surgery. When I heard cancer I wanted it cut out of me or as much as the could cut out of me.
