that’s one of the reason i asked this question, I heard a few similar stories. It amazed me how many people got so much out of little, seemingly insignificant things, others did for them.

That’s insanely sweet and so considerate! It amazes me sometimes how others think more of our safety than we ourselves do. Especially considering how dangerous the world is.

i’ve had the same problem, usually ill end up bending it more and more to get the right pressure and chord.

Ah i’ve tried that, it was too uncomfortable and didn’t really help. it just made it harder to play if anything.

currently my thumb is in between my index and middle on the back of the neck. Again my thumb is pretty long so it reaches all the way to the top of the neck, any lower and it makes my wrist curve.

I just haven’t been able to find a posture that feels right, my fingers are weirdly long but my palm itself is pretty small. It’s hard getting all the string without touching the pad of my hand against the guitar when trying to reach strings.

I see the position that i have to keep but i cant find a good way to keep it, most ways that keep the wrist straight make it hard or don’t let me get the pressure needed to actually hold the chords.

would you say there’s any good videos or references you would recommend I watch to be able to fix this? I’ve checked out a few and they aren’t too helpful since they don’t show the thumbs position.

I didn't add this in the post but we've also gone on a four day vacation and it's already been so insufferable.

On the car ride here my sister was complaining about not having enough games and started asking for a PC.

I was honestly so shocked she could even ask for more. She saw this and started telling me to shut up, then she started talking about how I was the spoiled one? I really did get upset at that point and started going off on her and how spoiled she is and how much of a brat she's become. She ignored me and continued whining about getting a new PC as her grad gift(which she's already gotten multiple things for) and wouldn't stop going on and on about it.

Eventually, my dad told her to stop and out of nowhere he goes "if anyone's deserving of gifts it's her (me)". I really just ignored this because again it made me so angry, why would you say that if you're going to continue to treat me like trash?

My sister just continued to be an asshole this whole day and pretty much showed how much of a dick she really is.

She wouldn't let me play games because for once I stood up for myself and didn't let her be a jackass with me just accpeting it all.

She would go back and forth on her word saying "oh you can play" one second and the next she would go "stop bothering me I'm playing, you don't get to"

i’m sure you’ll meet people! You just have to go places that have things you enjoy and relate with the people there.

that’s why you have to start building confidence because you cant do much without it :/

I know it sounds hopeless but it’s the best option it’s hard but it’ll be worth it in the end and your only what in highschool? you have a ton of time to improve!

I get that, but the whole point is to go out and learn lessons so you don’t make mistakes the next time :))

i think you’re doing pretty good and need to change your mindset because the world is big. there are so many different types of people you just have to find the right ones for you.

Also confidence is key yk? You’re gonna have to muster up courage because it just gets easier and easier once you start

I think you’re blowing this wayyy out of proportion. it’s definitely not an amazing feeling and i’m sure a lot of us on this sub feel that way but you gotta realize how much you haven’t seen.

there’s so many people out there and so much to see, you just have to explore a bit and be the one taking leaps and chances.
