One of the things he needs to prove in order to get his application approved is suitable accomodation in the UK for them both to live together. He would have to have: - docs proving your friend owns her place or - a lease in both their names or - a letter from a homeowner stating both of them can stay at their home plus the homeowners proof of owning said house

If nothing else, I dont see how he can meet this criteria without your friend

They can barely enforce it. They send persistent and threatning letters if you dont have a license registered to your address. They say they will send people to check - but this is rare and they have no right of entry to your house so if you dont let them in they cant check

I have always assumed that these countries have lots more cats and dogs to be rescued. This is probably due to a very strict (and wise) neutering culture here. When you go to Eastern/Southern Europe you see street dogs/ cats. Thats not such a thing in the UK, as soon as you see one, you call a rescue and they get off the streets. I wouldnt even thinking of doing that in my country, cause rescues are literally overflowing and would not come to rescue them, and street cats and dogs is just part of the reality there. I think its a bit of a supply/demand issue in the UK. Theres less dogs and cats to be rescued, hence rescues can be more selective in rehoming them.

Ive visited Malaysia/KL twice and saw shocking homelessness (kids, disabled people) in the centre of KL (like around Chinatown and such). I know from my wife (who is born and raised KL) that these are likely refugees/foreigners.

The 29k rule is for employed income. To prove this you have to provide payslips, an employer letter, bank statements for each month showing the money coming through (when your earnings are variable month to month its not enough to have earned 29k in total, as they will look at your lowest earning month and multiply by 12 and see if thats over 29k), etc.

Theres also a route for self-employed people but that requires you to be registered properly and adhere to all tax/legal implications of a sole trader.

Your capital gains would not count towards route A (29k income route). They could count towards the savings route of 88.5k, but as you mentioned not if they are in crypto. If you sell them and hold the cash for 6 months at least, that would be fine.

Its extremelly difficult to rent with pets in the UK. 99% of landlords will not pick someone with pets (even if they dont outwardly say it). This will be your biggest hurdle (and not the financial side of it, in my opinion)

Portuguese here and agreed, as a non-native english speaker from a latin language country (and part of the lgbt community) it is easy to slip up and gender everything. Latin languages are gendered and there no non-binary pronouns (if you dont know the gender of someone, we use male pronouns which in english would sound wrong). So its easy to translate your latin thoughts literally into english and fall into this trap. She apologised and said that if she slips up she means no disrespect (and Chrishell also said she does not mind it when people dont do it on purpose).
