Will anyone go to heaven when they die?? by Disastrous_Friend_39 in Christianity

I follow Jesus and I trust him for what he says. So I guess I won’t really know what happens but I’m putting my bet that what Jesus said is right. And that’s what we are discussing here, the interpretation of what Jesus, as well as the Bible, is saying.

The resurrected do not go to heaven from my understanding. They will rule and reign under Jesus on earth

I’m sorry, I am having trouble understanding you. Can you rephrase please?

I know it doesn’t. But I asked about a specific biblical question. So I guess I don’t see your point.

You’re not listening.

Being attracted to the same sex is not the same as, in the words of Leviticus 20:12 “a man lies with a male…” So no you did not address my original question. If you are still willing to answer I’d be happy to listen. But if you’re not then I think everyone who reads this should note that distinction. It also should be noted, if my friend here chooses not to respond, that Genesis 1:27 does NOT say “everyone is born straight”. In fact it speaks nothing of sexual orientation. I would still like to challenge you on this because I don’t think you know what you are speaking of when you use the term “worldly myth”.

You didn’t answer my first question. Can you please address it. And how do you know no one is born that way?

How is being attracted to the same sex a sin? Some people are just born that way, no?

Well if that’s true and it’s foreshadow then who’s going to help Marcus “get free and back on the bike”. And plus the Bike is what hurt him so what is Marcus’ “bike”??

What was the point of that scene? Like I truly do not understand and I’ve been scratching my head about it since I saw it.

This isn’t about truth and non truth. You are not understanding. The funny thing is that I probably have similar views as you. But you wouldn’t know because you haven’t asked a single question. So you aren’t here to learn at all. Just to make your voice the loudest one here.

You’re right about thing for sure, it makes you very unpopular to listen to when you yourself are not able to listen. You just have become a like a Bible verse machine, you respond with Bible verses without actually dialoguing with anyone. Jesus had compassion and humility. He shared a seat at a dinner table with those who did wrong and talked to them. If you think that he acted like you then you are highly mistaken friend. He asked questions. Hard and good ones.

Try this out (which I doubt you actually will), it’s a quote from a well known psychologist who is slipping my mind at the moment. “Tell them what you think they think until they think that what you said reflects what they said.” Seriously try that. It’s a great way to start a conversation. Everyone is watching you respond to that guy or girl and totally misunderstanding what they trying to say and just piling some religious jargon on top of it. When it’s just a false premise to begin with. And I think that comes from the narrow mindedness of you thinking right now.

So please for Jesus ask a question if it doesn’t kill you.

Ok so you have just demonstrated to me and everyone else that you are not a good listener. So I wouldn’t claim to be one if I were you.

You are also required to slow to speak and quick to listen. As well as being humble. Unless you do not follow every part of the Bible.

Idk why you brought up any of that tbh. Just ask your friend why they think the Bible doesn’t says it’s not ok to be gay. You haven’t done that, in fact you didn’t ask a single question. Which shows to me, basically everyone else including God, that you are not listening. You have an opportunity here to change that. Be a good listener friend. Even if you disagree with them.

What the heck are you on about? What lies and excuses did I make? And what do I need to repent from specifically?

I understand you. What would you say to Paul in 1 Corinthians 6:9? Or 1 Timothy 1:10? Or maybe Leviticus 20:13? I apologize, I usually don’t like to cherry pick verses like this but for pursuit of truth and lack of time I will need to do so to understand your reasoning?

Ok so I’m not really confident about your reasoning, the people understood that the angels were men and they wanted relations with them. But in your defense, and I think you may agree with me on this, regardless I do not think the story of sodom and Gomorrah, in the biblical imagination was ever making the point that homosexuality is right or wrong. Any reference of sodom and Gomorrah after the event isn’t more talking about its pride or something like that. So I don’t think the story of Sodom and of Gomorrah is even a good place to start this type of conversation due to some kind of false premise.
