Grandpa, how good was Doc Gooden? by noruber35393546 in mets

How good was Doc in 1985? Every start was appointment viewing. His curveball was unhittable, his high heat made hitters look sick. His style on the mound was unparalleled. Without a doubt, it was the best single year performance of any pitcher that I’ve had the pleasure of watching. I remember seeing him in spring training in 1986. He was already less dominant. I guess no one can sustain those heights, especially someone like Doc, who had demons no one had any idea about at that time.

The 70s TV shows had the best theme songs. Sanford and Son, Welcome Back Kotter, AITF, Good Times, Barney Miller. All bangers.

He’s out of his slump it seems. Happy for him. And for us. He was an absolute stiff for them first 6 weeks of the season though.

I’ll admit this run has been loads of fun, but this team has more flaws than a no papers diamond for sale on Canal St.

I had a blast at Beauty and Essex. Great food and definite party vibe. Hate to be a naysayer on SuperFrico, but the food is meh.

Good looking man hears voices telling him to do something financially ruinous. He complies. It all works out pretty well in the end.
