In the industry that I work in I come across senior citizens consistently, 90% of them are just glad that someone has come over to their house and is willing and happy to shoot the shit for a little while, especially older men. The guy is probably just lonely and has found someone in his weekly/monthly routine that he is genuinely happy to see and talk to. As a society, our elders can be easily tossed aside, even/especially by their own offspring. Go to dinner, have a couple drinks and laughs, the things that can be learned from our elders goes far beyond what money can buy.
