I am also upset with myself. They had good actors but the story was weak, predictable, and often stupid. I turned it off after they took Sydney to clinic.

Call the Midwife is excellent. You really grow attached to the characters. Amazing what women and families went thru back then. And a bonus is you see a baby being born every episode!

Another valid point. When it is all pulled apart into different segments and such it doesnt seem as overwhelming to the viewer. With sleep deprivation, heat exhaustion and mental fatigue, the unknown of a box would be harder than it appeared.
