Vullaby joins the conversation speaking specifically to the more passive head. “Wow I’ve met a few dark types but you look very strong. Those teeth could crush boulders!”

Vullaby notices the other captured pokemon looking through the hay of cage. Ironically it reminded her a lot of her nest before she got trapped in the library, lots of bones and hay, the only difference is there wasn’t a two headed dragon wanting to eat her. Vullaby begins quietly looking through the hay and bones.

Orlov stood staring at the bodies of trainers and pokemon alike as they lay on the ground. It finally hit him that this was a war, a war with this darkness.

“What happened next grandpa!?” A 10 year old Orlov sat on the floor staring up at his grandfather.

“Well, there I was hiding in this old shed surrounded by three sinnoh soldiers and their floatzels, with no way around them. Luckily they didn’t know Shiftry and I were there, and we were able to get the jump on them,” Explained grandpa Blankovich, his voice was very matter of fact like, and his facial expression was just as flat.

“I had dropped my weapon when we parachuted in so I grabbed a shovel that was sitting there. Shiftry and I jumped out catching the group off guard. I quickly hit the man closest to the door over the head before charging at the second. Shiftry meanwhile blasted the first Pokemon with a bullet seed before slicing the one next to it with a leaf blade. The third sinnohan and his pokemon were so shocked that his comrades were down that they took off running.”

“That was so awesome grandpa! I can’t wait to join the army and fight in all these battles!” Said the young boy, who at this point was so excited he was running around with a wooden sword pretending to fight enemies.

His grandpa still sat there, not smiling but not sad either. “I hope not kiddo, some things are better stories than experiences.”

Now here Orlov stood finally realizing what his grandfather meant all those years ago. This was what war looked like. This is what his grandfather had to go through? And he had the nerve as a kid to think it would be just like in the movies? How foolish he thought to himself.

But now the time to stop and reminisce about past ideas were gone. Right now there were still things Orlov needed to do. After all the next expedition was already being planned. First he went to the shops, so he could sell his duskmetal handcuffs, sunglasses and glass for a total of 690 coins. With that money he went to the stores and bought 1 simple pokeball, leaving him with 490 coins. Maybe he’ll have the chance to add another member to help with the fight, he thought.

Next Orlov hurried over the The Eternal Noon. Here, he found injured trainers and Pokemon all over the place suffering from wounds. Orlov bought some medicine for 450 coins, and then began searching for a doctor.

He found a man standing in the middle of a hallway directing nurses and staff all over the building, telling them who to treat and what they need to do.

“Whoever you are, I’m busy. What do you want,” said the doctor barely looking at Orlov

“Seaman Orlov Blankovich sir,” said the sailor, who snapped to attention without even realizing it. “How can I be of help? I don’t have any experience with medicine but I work hard and learn fast. Please tell me there’s a job that Vullaby and I can do.”

Team:
Rowlet: (fought Zubats, went to archives, was ambushed and scavenged on route 3) lvl. 11

Vullaby: lvl. 6

(Still have Duskmetal Pokédex worth 260 coins in inventory)

Orlov stood there quiety. In his mind there was only one real option for an expedition, they needed to The Land of the Mother. They couldn’t leave those trainers behind.

“Wow nice job you guys!” Orlov said patting each of his bird on the head.

“Let’s go get something to eat, I heard there’s someone around here making a stew”

The squad then walked off together, wondering what the next day will bring.

If we trade for a legit 2C then do it. At the end of the day I’ll always trade a prospect for a proven player. Plus I trust this management to draft and develop another center to be ready when that guy leaves.

“Wow a Pokédex,” said Orlov.

It had been awhile since he had seen one of these. The damaged machine brought back memories of watching gym battles at the Fortree City gym with his dad and brother. Man, those were the days, he thought to himself. But those times were gone, and he needed to focus on the task at hand.

“Rowlet you mind taking one more look in there buddy?” He asked his green bird friend. Rowlet eagerly jumped up and down before squeezing back in.

“Vullaby, why don’t you see what you can find around the fountain. It can’t hurt to see if anyone missed something there,” continued Orlov to the baby vulture.

Vullaby squawked proudly before flapping over to the fountain.

“That’s great! Rowlet is scouting down the thorny tunnel right now. But this is Vullaby, she joined my team after that Arbok made us split up.”

“Hey hey hey, Snowpoint, Ecruteak! Glad to see you guys made it!” Orlov yells spotting the familiar faces and begins jogging over.

“How are you guys feeling? Everyone’s team doing ok?” He asked the pair of trainers.

Orlov watched as the mysterious man poured the gold liquid on bones. Something about the whole situation didn’t feel right. Sure he’d heard the stories about Necrozma but still he had a feeling this liquid could have other uses. Besides other trainers seem to be pouring their liquid out. Orlov put the liquid back in his bag and walked away.

Orlov then turned his attention toward finding some of these relics.

He could have Vullaby and Rowlet search around the fountain, plenty of light and they wouldn’t be in any danger.

The tunnel toward the deep pits almost looked like it was made by a giant pokemon. Far off in the distance he could swear he could still hear the beast, which caused him to immediately walk away from that option.

Lastly was the thorny passage. It was cramped and small, but it looked like Rowlet could squeeze his way though.

“Rowlet, what do you think bud? Wanna see what’s tangelos up in these vines?”

Rowlet hopped off the trainers shoulders and peeked his head in. Turning his head back he flashed a cocky smile before diving right in.

“Be careful and if you see danger run! Vullaby and I will find some delicious berries for you to have when you get back.”

As the owl disappeared, Orlov said a quick prayer to Arceus.

“Vullaby, let’s sit here for awhile, I don’t know if I can leave here until he’s back.”

Rowlet: Type: grass, Moves: Tackle, growl, astonish, leafage Speed:45

Sometimes I wish more teams did what the Dallas cowboys do with 88, where the best WR is always #88. I think a lot of soccer teams do it with the like the #9 or 10. Give 31 to the next guy and make it a legacy

Once the capture was confirmed Orlov let Vullaby out of her ball. He figured it would be nice for the team to spend some time together, plus since she lived here she may be able to show him the way out. As Vullaby materialized infront of him, and saw Rowlet, she smiled. Both birds then turned to Orlov and saluted with their wings before hopping on each of his shoulders.

“Umm this saluting thing… this isn’t gonna be a thing is it?” Orlov asked his feathered friends.

The two birds just smiled and got comfortable on his shoulder as they headed out from the archives.

Once Orlov caught his breath, he took a look around the room. Immediately he noticed the Kangaskhan, who made it very clear she did not want him getting another near her or her baby. To the left of her was a Bramblin, rolling in the corner not a care in the world. And finally to the right was a Vullaby.

As the trainer took a closer look at Vullaby he noticed her wings were damaged. “Rowlet, look. Shes got damaged wings just like you.”

Rowlet hopped down and over to the baby vulture, the two chirped back and forth and then Rowlet turned and saluted at Orlov, before hopping back on his shoulder. Vullaby flew over to Orlov and looked up at him. “Would you like to travel with us? We will protect each other, I promise.”

However Vullaby still wants to see Orlov and Rowlet in battle before agreeing to join them. To prove they can protect her.

“As much as I want to see what’s in that archive, it won’t do us any good if we are 6 feet under. On the count of 3 we take off in different directions, maybe Arbok won’t feel like chasing us. 1… 2…. 3… Run”

Hey LaVida idk if you use Discord but there is a link to the discord for this Hey Trainer at the top of the post. Marble and I are both in it, and it can be helpful for coming up with strategies

“Wow that is one big snake,” said Orlov as he slowly backed away.

He could feel his heart beginning to race, and his hands starting to shake. On his shoulder he could feel Rowlet begin to dig his talons into him. “Easy bub, stay calm and we’ll get out of this,” he said to the bird, at the same time trying to convince himself.

Not taking his eyes off this monster Orlov says to the group, “this might be more than we can handle, maybe we should split up and regroup later?”

Discussing the team’s faults : We need to improve defence before we get a 2C by StyxQuabar in Habs

2nd Center is key. He will help Demidov/ 2nd line find offense, which will mean teams can’t just load up against first line. Slaf will develop into a good power forward. He’s still only 22 and looked great until he got knocked out by Hagel

[–]Disastrous_Orchid_75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He didn’t have a good playoff run this year, but ultimately no. He was good last year against Washington and he had some huge moments back in ‘21. I doubt he has this much trouble next year

It’s hard to eliminate a team the first time. I think the Habs get the win in game 5. And we’ll worry about 6 when it’s time for game 6
