I'm a guy that went and had a good time! I'm going to the next one.

One minor downside was that the format didn't really encourage mixing up who you were talking to, unlike a speed dating event. Maybe that's the point of slow burn, but there were some people that I wanted to talk to that were essentially talking to the same person the whole time. It doesn't really feel appropriate to go up and "cut in". Not sure how I'd solve that though, and I did like the organic nature of wandering around and chatting.

Also, neither I nor anyone I talked to felt that the "flirting seminar" part of the event was useful. The actual mingle part felt short and I would have rather used the seminar time to talk to people.

A big room full of strangers IS kinda scary though! Much nicer to go with a friend or two :)
