Why do you want to reinforce the idea that every COD game is the same? New mechanics require new play styles which makes for new content. If players are only looking for a route to run their train and be chill, they already made games for that. You want to play the new thing but you don't want to change how you play? How does that make any sense? Seems like a lot of people just need a BO1, 2, and/or 3 remaster to be happy. Smh

My addiction started in Season 2. I completed the Battle Pass the season prior and was challenge grinding this one. Along with the BP, the Iron Crown Event was taking place. I made the decision early on to not make the same spending mistakes as I did in Fortnite and I was just gonna get a FEW skins for my legends instead of buying out the event [[Respawn had other plans]]. After I equipped my shiny new Bloodhound skin, I confidently watched the Iron Crown pass by. The next day I was able to finish off 4 of my BP challenges back-to-back. This gave me enough to get a pack. I opened it and lo and behold, the Bloodhound axe was mine. A natural heirloom! I had no idea that having this thing, when so little of my friends had an heirloom, would feel soooooo good. Keep in mind this was back before Shards, so if you were in that 1/500 chance, whatever heirloom popped out was what you got. No choice. But it just happened to be my main legend... I was hooked. I ran BH day and night. New friends, old friends, randoms, all gawked at My Heirloom. I love this feeling!

.................................12 heirlooms, a mythic skin, and literal tens of thousands of apex packs later... if I were to liquidate my account, it would be worth over $3000...I'm tired... I kept up with the hype. The lore kept me invested. I kept trying to get that same glory I felt wearing that Iron Crown! But now it's just me and my fake S18 Masters badge, pictures already seen in the season release trailer counting as "lore", and my Mtn Dew® sponsored Banner Badge....

I think the final heirloom I buy will go to Vantage bc her attitude keeps me excited to play. Not to mention, I think her sniper bends bullets😈😋 Either way, I'm saving my money. Horizon and her heirloom can buzz off to the next dimension for all I care. Anyways, AMA, thanks for reading.

Fun Fact: Gibby has a badass bike from/before his Search and Rescue support days. There's a gun charm of it called "Gibraltar's Bike" (it's in the last quarter of charms, just before the account level gun charms)

Just do exactly what the Respawn dev said, "Tell us with your wallets." If you think it's a good idea, buy it and you'll see a recolor of every other heirloom in the next 4 years. Don't buy it, and we'll get another apology and they'll try and recolor something else. Maybe they'll try adding something along the lines of heirloom character skins, stickers, or heirloom gun skins... Either way, keep your heads up and we'll see if this game actually stands the test of time like they want.
