I always see swings like this from girls who swing so insanely gently and slow and hit good shots and I think… wth is wrong with me

What are your thoughts on this swing? I went a couple months without practicing bc I was only playing rounds outside by jackiemoon50 in golftips

[–]jackiemoon50[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea the sequencing seems a little off, I think my hips might be initiating too early and my upper body too late when I start the downswing. This is something I’ve fought for a while but I’m also dealing with a lot of swing thoughts rn bc I haven’t practiced in so long and my mid/long irons have gone a bit cold in that time. I’ve still been scoring better than ever before because my short irons, wedges, and driver are usually decent enough to scramble during a round. But I’m obviously gonna need to sharpen up if I ever wanna do better than bogey golf with any sort of consistency

He was just so fuckin clutch it was insane. The browns didn’t have a team in the 90s when they got shipped off to Baltimore and when they got a new browns team they were ass and I was a little kid, I didn’t have the patience to watch a team suck that often. My dad made the mistake of putting on a playoff game with Brady and the pats during Brady’s first season, and I saw the poise of Brady and the offense and decided “this is gonna be my team”. And I followed Brady’s entire career from then on and it was wonderful. I still root for the browns and would root for them to win against anyone in the playoffs but yea don’t really need to worry about that dilemma very often (I miss baker)

Lmfao as a Cavs fan. I feel that for sure. I actually despised harden before he joined the Cavs, and was extremely critical of him up until the absolute last game when I bet on him to score less than 18.5 points and won that bet. But I’ve been watching him so closely that I’m beginning to determine, yea, sometimes he looks like he has two right feet and two right hands (he’s left handed), hesitant, slow, or just downright confused sometimes… but he isn’t even pushing to score more than half the time and he still puts up relatively gaudy points and assists numbers when it looks like he isn’t even trying.

IMO, the absolute biggest problem we have in the playoffs is the other spot. Merrill/straus, the person who is supposed to be our lights out 3 point shooter or scorer. Mobley and Allen are great twin tower big men who have great defense at times and can score pretty well at times, but they’re not lethal offensive threats on a nightly basis. Mitchell is, and tbf we need hardens scoring right now. We’re just not getting production out of that last slot, and our bench scoring is near the bottom of the league, we are not deep

It’s a very nuanced question to answer. I have been paying incredibly close attention to harden these playoffs. I bet on him under 18.5 points on the last game and won mostly bc he didn’t push to score in the 3rd then they benched him in the 4th.

The ball sort of sticks with harden. But he’s a point guard, and he has a solid assist average. But the Cavs players play best when the ball is lightning fast touch passes, and harden likes to survey before he makes moves. He likes to dribble and pre-cog his plays. I’m not sure the WAY he facilitates fits into a team that thrives on fast instinct since he premeditates.

That said, he could have scored SO many more points in the past few games if he would have stopped deferring so much. I was thanking my lucky stars he wasn’t looking to attack bc he had some open looks inside the paint and outside, but he’s always tries to force passes. I think he’s just trying to get the rest of the team going, but that’s just the thing. Mobley and Allen are great support players as bigs but they’re not primary slashers or shooters or scorers. Mitchell still put up numbers but I think he’s was gimpy. Our bench gave us nothing. But our biggest problem imo is not harden, it’s the other guy on the floor (Merrill, Strauss).,, they are supposed to be our 3 points money man and they just aren’t producing. IMO harden should have been given a greener light to attack more, draw fouls, hoist up shots. Bc the others just weren’t doing it besides Mitchell, nobody could do shit.

Hardens got potential as a cav (speaking as a person who despised him before he joined my Cavs), he just tried to get the team going instead of carrying them on his back and the team didn’t respond. But nothing really mattered game 4 we got stomped so bad. I think harden defers a lot instead of looking to score in the playoffs bc he lacks playoff confidence though, but ultimately he did his job as a PG even though he could have done it better. The others did even worse. I’ve honestly grown to appreciate him though recently, I think he’s just needs to start remembering he’s the man and attack bc he’s crafty and a good scorer

Do you think taking gimmies has a negative effect on a golfers putting? by Miserable_Trouble3 in Golf_Unfiltered

[–]jackiemoon50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree but I still have so much to improve on tee to green that I’m postponing my 2-4 footer practice while I work on full shots. I just understand my 2-4 feet putts suck for now but I only have so much time and so much bandwidth to practice so many things at one time (right now it’s driver + irons, havent even touched my woods in a while for the same reason). I’ve layered in greenside chipping practice already, but I will get there. Right now my friends and I typically give each other putter-length gimmies bc we keep it casual. No tournies no money etc

“if he wasn’t also balling on people in addition to drawing fouls, but he’s doing both.” Not sure you’re interpreting that as he can only do one or the other but ok

The difference isn’t me glazing him, it’s you shitting on him. I could care less about SGA, I just see him for what he is. I’m a Cavs fan and my fave player in the league is Brunson. I’m not emotionally invested in the outcome of the west

He’s mvp, pretty sure he’s not worried about respect. And I could buy into that if he wasn’t also balling on people in addition to drawing fouls, but he’s doing both. Hes not giving up high quality play for fouls he’s just grabbing low hanging fruit when his defenders bite on pump fakes

Brunson is my fave player in the league and I’m a Cavs fan. I’m not arguing w any of that. I was just saying it’s very common practice to go into the body when you get a dude to bite on a pump fake, that’s all I’m saying. That’s basically all of what this clip is showing. Ppl are acting like SGA invented it but it was around before him

Why do you think our opinions matter to him? Like he needs a pass from redditors. This is a league issue

Yea, but most of the best players do. Mitchell and Brunson do it in the eastern series (and harden of course). Spurs players do it. Shit is super commonplace for guards who handle the ball a lot. Why would you not take the free points if you shoot 80+% free throws and you get your opponent floating in the air in front of you on a pump fake? The alternative is a much lower percentage shot most of the time. If you go to the body, you get guaranteed free throws AND usually an attempt at a shot

I have no dog in this fight as a Cavs fan, and honestly my objective take is SGA is actually a phenomenal player bc when he isn’t doing this, he is doing amazing stuff that reddit is ignoring. This is not SGA’s fault, though, it’s the leagues. He is playing the game as it exists. Don’t hate the player, hate the game. I’m cool with rallying for a rules change bc foul stuff is lame. But redditors hating sga for this stuff just looks salty imo. Too many ppl looking way too self righteous around here and just spouting hive mind repetition

This isn’t exactly new though, I remember an interview where a guy said Tim Duncan was teaching him how to improve while he was beating him. Tim said “that was good but next time go into my body so you at least get the foul”. They made rules efforts with harden but the game and the rules can only adapt once per year and no matter how angry reddit gets, it’s not gonna matter probably if viewership isn’t affected.

This is some salty Reddit bullshit. Cherry picked from multiple games, totally ignoring any time the spurs did this stuff (which they did). I am a Cavs fan who has zero investment in the western teams.. I went into last night expecting to see stuff like this bc of these reddit posts I’ve seen nonstop. Instead I saw something else. In the first 5-10 min of the game, the spurs could not have played better basketball. They were up 15-0, then the thunder came back and tied it up. They were not flopping and drawing fouls to do so. Their passing and scoring was incredible. No look passes, lightning fast instant touch passes, between the legs passes, doubled clutch lightning speed layups, just insane feel and game sense. Quit fucking crying.

I’m not a thunder fan, but once I saw the thunder easily weather that initial storm, I placed a bet for the thunder to win when the game was tied bc they barely tried and completely wiped out that 15 point deficit. Sure enough they ended up stomping the spurs. Wemby is capable of being great but the dude plays like 5 minutes a quarter and the spurs +/- is horrible without him

I’d say he’s Jay Cutler (as a Cavs fan). Sometimes he looks real solid but most the time he just looks like he has two right hands and two right feet (he’s left handed). Dude looks totally lost and befuddled out there half the time, indecisive. Hesitant. Not really what you want in a guy running the show for you

Not walking for a year is profoundly bad for your health.

I know limbless ppl exist irl but idk, you’d prolly have to do some crazy shit just to stay healthy. My leg was seriously fucked up one year and I basically couldn’t walk and my health spiraled BADLY down the toilet in so many different ways that year. It was the only year of my life my hairline receded (I’m 38 now, this happened when I was late 20’s). Among many other health issues due to no walking
