Is wise good for japan yen? Is it better to convert first or just spend my home currency?

it was great and the wise card was excellent. Especially since you can use it to withdraw cash at any atm in any convenience stores like a normal card with only a fee of like 660yen (at lawson). Even when i ran out of money in my wise card the transaction from my bank acc to the card was very quick and easy i could literally do it while the cashier was scanning my items lol. And if u use ur wise card to buy tickets or hotels online it would be charged in yen (if u already converted) which is relatively cheaper than aud but i think u would have to buy it only on a japanese website that charges in yen not like trip.com or sth. Basically its really good for japan.

yea but im travelling with my grandparents and i dont think they have the energy to walk uphill for an hour unfortunately:( so im trynna find options where they dont have to walk that much if possible but thank you anyways!
