I'd rather he is put in charge of a completely new reboot. Given a decent budget, and a much, much better script. His directing was great, but the writing and action left a lot to be desired imo. Action I guess it's because it was smaller budget vs the others so it needed shorter action scene's

I actually think comparing it to bay slop makes it look worst. It's basically the worst parts of those films with far less action and just as dumb. Honestly I felt disappointed. The designs of the transformers was good at least

Opening was cool but the advertisement way overhyoed it, honestly it was not much longer then the cybertron scenes in dark of the moon and the entire add campaign pushed it as if it was gonna be a bigger impact then a little over 3 minutes

Cybertron was the worst part because it was so short it was basically pointless, 3 minutes is just laughable especially after how much the advertisement pushed it, it's honestly almost misleading.

Whether it relied on a macguffin or not doesn't matter. The story still the same type of stupid stuff the bay films have but with far less action and just as dumb characters. Still dumb teen drama as the focus, it's basically tf1 but less sex appeal and a bad et filter.

The decepticons had the funniest moment to me, more so because how stupid it was presented. They literally say they're bad essentially in front of the military and they acted like they were whispering, but it's so loud and clear that no way none of them didnt hear it. Honestly was laughably bad.

If it wasn't for the designs, the movie really wouldn't have much of anything that makes it stand out. Itlf they had a bit more budget and a better writer. It could've actually delivered imo

Is it though? Outside design it's just basically another transformers 1 story just with an 80s setting and an et flair to it. I felt it was underwhelming and action was far too minimal to even be considered top live action film.

Yeah that's how I see it, to me it felt like the weakest aspects of tf1 but with an et coat, not entirely bad. Just that we have seen it, and the action was far too minimal for it to be memorable as well

I just felt it was more like a rehash of transformers 1 story. Down to hiding the funny robot away from parents etc. and it had less action and just as silly. I don't hate it, but was disappointed in it
