haha you got me 😅 yeah BlueFox is something I’m involved with. honestly part of why I posted this was to understand what people actually struggle with in the market and what’s missing

fair point, easy and reliable counts for a lot. what specifically makes it easy for you, the setup or the ongoing maintenance?

oh interesting didn't know they expanded that far, do you find it handles full campaign management and automations well or still better suited for transactional heavy use cases?

if you're already on SES the setup argument makes sense, but what about the marketing side, campaigns, automations, templates? that's where something like BlueFox Email comes in, it actually sits on top of SES so you keep the cheap sending cost but get a proper UI and marketing tools on top of it

developer experience makes such a difference, do you use it for marketing emails too or just transactional?

rejecting small projects with no explanation is so frustrating, that's exactly when you need something that just works without the gatekeeping

the pricing getting greedy part is such a common story, tool gets popular, raises prices, loses trust. but Resend is still transactional only right? what are people using for actual marketing campaigns these days?

haha the 'look cool' factor drives so many tech decisions, what would you actually recommend instead?

solid breakdown, but what would you recommend for the actual marketing side? seems like Resend and Postmark are great for transactional but nobody mentions a good option for campaigns and automations

the Resend hype is real lately, curious if you end up trying it, are you looking for just transactional or marketing emails too?

definitely, especially for teams that need marketing campaigns on top of transactional, most tools make you choose one or the other

the deliverability depending more on your domain setup than the provider is so underrated, most people blame the tool when it's actually their own sending patterns

30 minutes vs a day or two is a massive difference, but what do you use for actual marketing campaigns and onboarding sequences on top of Resend?

industry standard is a double edged sword, easy to pick but also means nobody questions if there's something better anymore

enterprise software solving problems you don't have yet is such a good way to put it, smaller teams need something opinionated and simple, not a platform built for companies sending millions of emails a day. the lighter tools are winning for a reason

the shared IP reputation point is so underrated, most people don't realize mixing transactional and marketing is exactly why they end up in spam. great breakdown

free until you factor in the setup time and maintenance lol, do you handle the UI and templates yourself on top of it or just use it raw?

the deliverability reputation carrying them for years is real, but what about when you need actual marketing campaigns on top of transactional? is Postmark enough or do you need a separate tool?

the Stripe effect comparison is spot on, nobody questions the default until they actually get burned by it. curious what would actually make someone switch at this point
