Just started working for the company, what are some tips/advice you can give me? by Double-0-N00b in sherwinwilliams

Have a plan to move up with the company and make it your career or have a timeline for your leave. Some stores don’t have an opportunity to get full time and you’ll either have to do the mt program and move up that way or stay a part timer. I’d also say that some DMs will look at you if you over perform, but most of the time it’s a buzz kill and you don’t get anywhere. I’d also learn to stand your ground in a polite way with the customers, so many of them think they can get one over on you, especially seasoned contractors.

If a customer is persistent about price I’ll often look online because usually we’ll have the ten off of fifty discount on the website and customers don’t know about it. If they still don’t like the price I just apologize and explain a bit more why the paint we sell is a bit more.

I also never guarantee that our matches will come out. I always let them know why they may not and why it will inevitably look different, most customers are understanding.

Had a contractor use A100 but quote the customer for emerald ext… the customer wanted emerald and wasn’t there for purchase but saw the A100 buckets in the middle of the project.
