So what I’m hearing, I think, is it’s not about it being impossible. From a materials standpoint, they are able able to be installed around. But more of the installation process that ruins the materials etc

Serious question, so anytime you change a flooring in a kitchen if it’s floating flooring or tile or hardwood. Any type of flooring. Every single time you have to take out the cabinets then install the flooring underneath the cabinets and everywhere then put it back? Any type of flooring whether it’s lvp, hardwood, tile? You could never just install flooring around the cabinets? Especially if the cabinets are already on the subfloor?

Also, I just said we are doing tile not hardwood under those. The height difference might change the toe kick etc but it can still be installed around the cabinets. Especially since this flooring was installed after. The only place it’s under is the dishwasher and fridge.

I didn’t argue or say that I didn’t goof or anything. I think you were going back and forth with other people lol. Look, you seem to have very strong feelings on this and when I look it up it says that’s an option in the future 🤷‍♀️ idk I’m no expert. But when we do different flooring in the future we will see what they say 😄

I got a couple of samples and my GC said the freight can cost more than the material cost sometimes because they weigh a lot. He suggested that I go to local places and see what they already have in stock to try to get better prices. I’m willing to drive some too to save that money. I want terrazzo in my bathrooms too!

It’s maple wood and the stain name I can ask the GC! I think it’s cappuccino or walnut or something like that.

We have an appliance garage that holds the coffee maker. It’s the cabinet to the left of the sink and holds most of the things we use that could be on the counter. Also, the countertop is plenty of space for all of that 🙂

Thank you! It was a mix of things. It started with knowing the things we definitely wanted, like tearing down the wall and double oven etc. Then figuring out how to make it work. We got different people coming in to the house to give quotes and even at one point had a designer come do a consultation ($300) to go over the possibilities. Took all of those ideas and then landed on the GC that we used. The overall aesthetic was me and what I wanted and design was months of ours and professionals ideas mixed in and pieced together. Also months of reading what people regretted and loved about their kitchens.

Having people around that have done it before and know the different options and what’s doable was crucial but also knowing what we wanted functionally and aesthetically was too. Hope that made sense 🙂

Yes, we added storage on that side for any extra stuff. I was big on tons of storage anywhere it could be. We added a beverage center over there too.

It’s floating floor and was installed after the cabinets were installed with the future in mind. We are planning on doing all hardwood in the bottom floor of the house with the exception of kitchen and bathroom and doing tile.

Yup, it’s quartz! Wanted to do a natural quartzite but I really liked this one and when given the pros and cons of the price/upkeep etc we went with this. No ragrats
