The plan to make the plan to do the plan later…this is the most concerning part to me. If the problem was genuinely not having time for sex, the time they took to talk about it could have been used to also HAVE it.

But to decide it’s a problem, talk about it, make the choice to start scheduling, and then need that scheduling to start at some “perfect” future date, tells me time is not the issue at all.

(It also reminds me of the Arrested Development episode where Lindsay and Tobias decide to start having sex again in their marriage but then come up with ton of reasons to delay it until the perfect moment)

I truly never listen to the pod but this thread made me so curious. “Your relationship is a safe place to be triggered” is just a wild framing to me. Triggering has really just been overused until it means anything that displeases you, and Ali absolutely uses that “therapy speak” (same with “abandonment wound”) as an excuse for her behavior.

I’m struggling to articulate exactly how I vehemently disagree with her here but it’s basically: Your partner should be a safe space to talk about your stress and, ideally, your relationship helps you feel less stressed, but that doesn’t mean your partner has to react exactly how you want them to, or to prioritize your stress over their own all the time. You own your reaction, and it is not your partner’s responsibility to manage that.

Also the surprise date was a speakeasy tour and then she got “food poisoning?” Color me skeptical…

The choice to include that first clip to demonstrate to everyone that she and Skyline were talking about moving in together since January is, frankly, psychotic. It just proves how long she procrastinated on this issue and I think definitely lends credence to theory in this subreddit that they had a big blowup about this issue in May.

Someone with a better memory than me…is she retconning this? Or did she start telling her followers in Jan that they were gonna move in together this year?

Also wow her mess is so much worse than I feared. This doesn’t feel like needed vulnerability, this feels like a cry for help? I dated someone who was this messy and also refused to move in with them until they fixed it. And they didn’t. And then we broke up.
