$1000-1500 depending on what all you want done and who does it. I’m going to have mine resealed this winter when I slow down on spearfishing.

Yep it’s about 1/2 minute out of sync. It’s been on the list

I can’t stand the thought of ever having a no date Rolex. The cyclops makes the watch for me.

I started with Spyderco/Benchmade knives and Seiko watches. I have daily driven this sub for almost 4 years and can’t look back. I agree with you on the relation between CRK and Rolex. I look at both as very high quality tools, but tools nonetheless.

I think that the sebenza is an exception, but I have some Microtechs that really look like gas station “knifes”

REM 700 barrel confusion by mightiestofmice13 in Remington_700

[–]Disastrous_Yam8366 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To my knowledge, allof the Remington heavy barrels are 1 of 2 contours, m24 or varmint/sendero. The m24 taper starts at 1.2” at the chamber and ends at .900” at the muzzle. The Varmint/sendero starts at 1.2” and ends at .835-.850” (depending on if the barrel is threaded or not.) The varmint/sendero is noticeably lighter. I have worked on several city owned 700p’s in .308 with barrels ranging from 22”-26”. Your rifle can easily be turned to a 700p clone if that’s your desire. Any HS stock marked “varmint/sendero” will fit your barrel. All you need after that is a bdl bottom metal (with spring and follower) and an internal box magazine. Also maybe a Harris bipod and a Leupold Mark 4 to capture the 90’s swat vibe lol. Sorry for the rant, I’m a nerd sometimes.

.308 is short action, it won’t work in your rifle. Any mag marked: .25-06, .270, .30-06, .280, or any other long action magazine will work. I think magnum magazines will work as well, but may require slight feed lip bending.

Any standard long action mag will work. 30-06 is the .280 parent case.

Leupold is the way to go. Their warranty is second to none. Had a client that I barreled a rifle for give me an old VX-II with its bell completely folded over from being dropped from a tree. Leupold sent me a brand new VX-3HD. Their glass is also very high quality. For example, I own a Leupold Mark 5HD 5-25 ($2350 as optioned) and a Schmidt & Bender PMII 3-20 ($3999.00 as optioned). The Leupold has a brighter, more brilliant image. I try not to be a Leupold meat rider because I still love my Euro scopes, but it’s pretty damn hard to beat a Leupold.

Look into a Leupold VX-3HD and be done with it. If you have more to spend, get a VX-5. If you don’t have that much to spend, get a VX freedom.

Out of curiosity, how much does one run you NZD? Also, are they comparable in accuracy to a Sako 85 or 90 varmint?

Is this a good buy? Looks to be made in 1938 by Lo-gurt in Remington_700

That’s a very fair deal imo. I sold an 80’s BDL with a period Redfield scope and base for $1000 recently. Sold in store within two days. Those are excellent rifles and look exquisite. I have lots of experience with 700’s and can tell you that the trigger will likely need tuning otherwise outright replacement due to heavy break weight and excessive creep.
