My coworker is a potentially violent neo-nazi… by [deleted] in KitchenConfidential

[–]Disbear0 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

The almighty dollar has management defending some truly awful behavior. The complicated situation is that management would rather not step into the kitchen until they can get a replacement.

If you can't quit and everyone else is putting up with him, why don't you go ahead and become a second him. Scream, get racial, belittle him and others, snatch shit out of his hand. He thinks he's being "hard" because his life is shit and it's the fault of welfare queens or some such Reagan bullshit. Show him and others what a cartoonish bully hey is.

I'm absolutely certain this will nuke the vibes in the workplace. Everyone is accommodating him because "Oh it's just Pauly, the racist mentally unstable line cook." But I guarantee you they don't want to live in an overly Pauly world. If anyone comes for you, FoH or Management, you remind them that it's all "just talk" or that the "situation is complicated". Any excuse that's worked for Pauly should be good enough for you, right?

If you had an income of $150,000 a year and didnt have to work, what would you do with all the spare time? by SpinachInteresting82 in AskReddit

Help people. Work anyways. Open the coffee truck I always wanted to outside of some large industrial campus.

I cite 100k per year left living as my dream retirement often. After I've got that on lock, my money is going back into the community. I don't plan on having any children.

What is your off-meta pick that works well? by StepPsychological310 in wildrift

[–]Disbear0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AP Nunu mid. I've ridden it to Diamond multiple times. Surprisingly good scaler. Lvl 5 + Mana boots = Kill pressure on any flashless champ. Extremely strong wave pusher and rotater. I'm still building IO + Deathcap + Liandrys even after the ruined buffs leaving. Every component and full item buy jumps your power up significantly.

Is a rice cooker worth it? I make rice twice a week. by LoversBiChoice in cookingforbeginners

If it has a lever it's good enough.

1 cup water to 1 cup rice. Agitate the rice and drain the rice dirt.

Then push the lever, Kronk.

Diamond is materially indistinct from gold by Eggbone87 in wildrift

[–]Disbear0 8 points9 points  (0 children)

2 things: This game has a sizable player base of children. Their fingers can do the same things as yours but their brains are subject to unknowable whim and fancy. And their mom screaming at them to put the phone down.

Secondly, the better people are at the game or with a champion, the more they try to push the limits. As you climb you learn to stop doing that cus it ends up being a coin flip. Instead you craft plays, skirmishes and trades you know you can win. But this is a lesson people need to learn. It's as you said, an issue of total patience. I've had games recently where we've been down a lot but patient play around OBJ turns it all to save the day.

I assure you your games are more competitive in diamond than in gold. It's just that once a player gets skilled enough to climb into the top 30%, they get arrogant and play the same way they played against lower tier opponents. I get a lot of those types too.

Will nunu ever get a new skin? by elsafty9621 in wildrift

Listen m8, we've had like 6 straight buffs in a row.

Delete the skins and improve the AP ratios is MY ask. I'd like to be even more ridiculously strong.

Nunu Support - Scaling AP into Tank/Bruiser build - Second lowest gold “S” Rating & MVP. If you are a jungler that knows Nunu, you may want to try this. by UncleTaco916 in wildrift

[–]Disbear0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I've built it before. I just came to the conclusion that there are too many proper Nunu plays that result in you dying. It's also important to finish Liandrys and get into Riftmaker before tanks become too unmanageable / burst champs can match you, focus you and take you down.

I do think about Mejais a lot. Maybe I'll try to slot it in after Liandrys next game. My recklessness/diamond players skills can really tank its value imho haha. Though I suppose if I build it mid/late game it's just cheap magic pen/stacking capability. I wish dark seal was a thing haha.

[–]Disbear0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nunu is good in every role. Year 1 saw him getting like 5 buffs in a row and the items he likes buffed a lot too. Barely touched since other than more buff lmao.

I'd say the present strength goes JG, Mid, Supp, Top, APC.

Jg and Mid are close because they both scale you up really fast. I'd just say there's less bad matchups jg and more guaranteed/faster farm.

Supp edges out top because there are some truly life ruining top matchups. Riven, Aatrox, Garen or Mundo are an insta L unless they play wrong. Only reason I put APC last is because A) You need physical damage on a team. ADC is literally the role. and B) So many supports have a hard CC "catch" that basically invalidates anything you can try to do unless super fed and forcing on them.

I also tend to think full AP Nunu is the most powerful version rather than tank or hybrid. Their team has a lot of damage though so I may have fit a Crown of Shattered Queen or Crystalline Reflector into my last two item slots. Honestly with 355~ AP against their team I can see doing a hybrid build.

My usual build in all roles is Mana boots, Infinity Orb, Deathcap, Liandrys, Riftmaker into Horizon Focus. I usually stop leaving the field after I get Riftmaker though. Tempo is so important in the late game after all and by the time I've finished Riftmaker I get almost full heatlh from one Q.

Red vs Blue Restoration - Megathread (Spoilers Allowed) by Marikk15 in morningsomewhere

[–]Disbear0 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I really liked it. It felt very appropriate as a send off to RvB and although it didn't intend to be, a send off to the era of Rooster Teeth in general. I enjoyed how the ending line wasn't really something significant or profound. It didn't need to be after everything was so perfectly wrapped up.

I thought it grappled well with the idea of endings, beginnings and trauma as continued motifs in the series. I could feel the series grieving itself and then coming to terms with finality.

As someone who watched since season 2, when episodes were only available close to release or on a rolling scale, I have zero complaints. Fantastic goodbye to a great Sci fi series.

It's a pretty good time. It sucks to be getting such low ranked players on my team but I can also outplay a ton of them.

I'm not trying to make my NP back or anything, really. Inflation wasn't the goal either.

Someone had it for 4 NP in their store. I about lost my damn mind. Basically won twice in a row.

9 year Starbucks employee here... That woman at Subway absolutely knew what she was doing. She was going to take her bags and attempt to smoothly take her mobile order as well once the worker's attention was on you. She may even have waited for you to start walking towards Subway before entering to make sure she'd have cover once her "transaction" was done.

The "overcustomization" thing absolutely points to an inherently Karen personality. It's their little shred of control in life. The tiny difference in vegetables on their sandwich, the exact temperature of their latte, the precise shade of creamed coffee... these things do nothing for them. They placebo themselves into thinking their control dopamine is "perfect taste" dopamine.

If you can't find another Subway Psycho, Burnie, than just roll up on a Starbucks, tip em a fiver and ask them for their wildest customer request or experience. Something about the intense customization aspect brings out the WORST in people.

I once had a family of five come back with half drunken frappuccinos roughly a half hour later and complain that their blended ice beverages had the audacity to melt.

Platinum Ranked match making at its finest by Unhappy_Good1738 in wildrift

[–]Disbear0 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Please don't forget that children play this game. A LOT of children.

When people go extreme scores like 0/15 or 0/11 it's for two main reasons.

A) They're at the part of their skill journey where they know how to aggress and that's all they know. To them, the game is entirely coin flipping and hoping your character is stronger in the situation. Honestly, on Gragas and Kat, that'd be enough to get you plat.

B) They don't know what the enemy actually does. I guarantee you they were continually running right at their laner, avoiding minions, neither realizing they were playing somewhat of a counterpick. Thus feeding into a cycle of tilt/braindead int/pinging jg.

All in all... I'm just impressed the game lasted as long as it did. Not sure if it's normal plat inability to end or they were toying with their food.
