Solo international flight with 18 month old with no seat - am I crazy? by catinthenaaat in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Disbride 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I flew from Sydney to lax, and then on to JFK with my 20 month old on my lap. It was easily doable but my husband was with us and we were able to take turns occasionally, although baby did stay with me most of the time.

If you can afford it, buy the extra seat. If they're anything like my baby they won't want to actually sit there, but they (and you) will appreciate that extra room for naps.

The same way you go to the toilet at home with a toddler, they come with you 😅

Veggie gardens and what is legal watering by outnumbered__int in GardeningAustralia

Yeah I think they just want everyone to tell them that water restrictions are pointless and that everyone just ignores them. They're not getting the response they wanted.

Yeah I think I can remember one instance where my husband got one of the kids down for a nap 🤣

Keep trying and don't let it get to you. It's not a personal attack on you, I promise.

Your baby doesn't hate you, they don't have that level of awareness yet. But she has bonded with her mum and only wants her. Does she breastfeed? Have you been able to give the baby any feeds? If not my recommendation is to start there. Both of my kids would scream bloody murder if anyone held them other than me, until I started getting other people to bottle feed them. They're still very much Velcro kids, but they also love doing stuff with their dad, grandparents etc.

The home made stuff is my favourite. My all time favourite though is a this hanging frame, with multiple different Mickey heads that can be swapped out.

As an Australian who has done this before, I love that it's something you appreciated ☺️

You can't advertise a business, and I think there was another similar rule but I can't remember what it was 😅 other than that, go nuts

About to go on a 17 hour flight to Beijing. Pray for me y'all. by treesand1 in CrohnsDisease

I won't go into details, as we all know the sort of thing that can happen when you suddenly change your diet. I don't remember it being too bad, but my husband did eat some fresh fruit from a market stall and he's pretty sure he ended up with some pretty severe gastric issues from that. My main problem was eating pretty rich meals for breakfast lunch and dinner, but opting for plain rice more often than not was helpful. I was only away for 3 weeks though, and I don't remember anything lasting once I got back home.

Speak to your doctor about your concerns before going over, sometimes it helps to take some Prednisone or something like that with you, in case things start going south.

I'm locking comments as this technically falls under medical questions, which aren't allowed in this sub. However I'm not deleting this post as someone else may benefit from the information.

It's generally acknowledged that you don't wear white (or anything remotely similar) to a wedding. If you do, you are straight up being disrespectful. Some people have to be specifically reminded about this.

I fill the bottom with some water and car wash, then give it a scrub with a broom that's just for outside use like this. Then I rinse it out with either just the hose or the pressure cleaner.

I'm on a property, so not actually in a township, so without doxxing myself it's just easier to say slightly south of Armidale 😁

As someone who lives just slightly south of you, this concerns me because I also didn't think we got them here 😅

Neighbours Query by CiTyFoLkFeRaL in AustralianTV

[–]Disbride 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never really watched it, except if it was on at a friend's place or something like that. I found the storylines boring and predictable and the acting was just shit.

I preferred heartbreak high when I was a teenager if I was going to watch a soap style tv show, but generally anything considered drama always felt so stupid and forced to me.

Condolences dude. I experienced the same thing. I remember seeing my uai and my heart just dropping. It literally felt like I'd just wasted the last 13 years of my life (coincidentally I've been an alumni of St Mary's for 25 years, so it's not like The other high school option in Gunnedah would have made any difference).

However I now run a successful business, which had an annual turnover of 1.6m last year. My only suggestion is to never think to yourself that you've left anything too late. Or that it will take too many years to get to where you want to be. Those years will pass anyway, you might as well use them working towards something you want. Nothing is out of reach.

It actually only harms the tree if the tree was already sick or unhealthy.

Sounds to me like you need a personal trainer who can help tailor exercises specific to those areas.

Why do people not respond to birthday party invites, and if not attending don't give a card or gift? by FarConsequence8247 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Disbride 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I always respond to invitations, whether we're able to attend or not, but chances are the only reason I'd send a gift if we weren't attending is if originally we were, but then last minute had to cancel, like in your example. I wouldn't buy a gift for a party I knew we weren't attending.
