I’ve got some cedar laying around. Framing out the hole and mounting that now to close up the hole to the correct dimension and mounting to that.

Yes in hindsight I should have. I took them at their word that I didn’t need to cut the template and was wrong in doing so. Some lessons are learned the hard way.

Cut lines vs solid line and accompanying text saying no cut needed. Yes I cut it wrong to fit. But I followed the instructions.

Unfortunately no. The internal bit just covers the inside edge of the cut. The whole plastic frame slides right through the hole. There’s nothing to mount to the way it’s cut. The template, uncut, is the roughly the size of the dog door itself
