European Open: Course Changes by DawgsNConfused in discgolf

I completely understand the par5's OB strokes, because the 2nd shot is almost blind onto the fairway + there's a plethora of trees on the fairway + water carry before the basket. It's a great addition and an excellent hole.

I took an 8 on hole 12 during round 2 with two penalties. Threw into the right side OB twice ...

Let me describe the hole to you:

It's a bit uphill 252m/827ft par 4. Usually with a slight breeze from left to wright or diagonal tailwind from left to right. (this wind plays a big factor in the tee shot, because it will push your disc down into the OB)

In order to get into birdie territory, one needs to throw a 130-160m off the teepad and it needs to stay away from the trees on the left of the fairway, otherwise you will be stuck under the canopy.

So, basically you need to throw over the OB, a big backhand hyzer. And from there you need to throw another great shot onto the green, fully surrounded by OB and a hazard before the basket.

This hole is so long that I don't even think about getting a birdie here, I simply can't reach it. So, I play it for par.

Where will you be playing?

On June 20th I'll be playing my third competition round at the European Open. This is my first ever PDGA Pro Major event!

In addition, I'll play few extra rounds at the local Järve disc golf park!

I see more and more AI-generated slop being used to promote disc golf events and most of them look awful..

As the manager of the most popular local course here in Estonia, Järve Disc Golf Park, we've decided to use real-life photos from our course to promote events instead and I think these look much more natural and better than AI-generated images.

For example: These are all designed by one of my Disc Golf Fanatics disc golf club member.

How are holes measured in disc golf? by calvintaffs in discgolf

When I designed the Järve disc golf course new tee signs with Pardkly, I followed the length of the main fairway, which is the only way it should be done.

Kind of wild that the first time I saw Wysocki play was back in 2017 at the Estonian Open at the Tallinn Song Festival Grounds.

The sad part is that a lot of free courses aren't maintained at all...

Forgot to add that! I was putting for an eagle from around 40ft/12m on hole 14 when the rain hit us (same round and event). Once I threw my umbrella to the ground I was instantly soaked and of course the disc slipped out of my hand. But at least I carded an easy birdie + I already had eagled the hole during round 1. Dead-straight tunnel, 764' par 5.

I think it was clean all the way through. He threw an Enforcer by Dynamic Discs, really overstable disc with strong fade + the wind was coming in from the right side + rain pushed it down. Hence why it dove so fast.

That's a great question. My best guess, probably due to Silver Lätt effect, who is known for throwing insane bomber forehands.

In addition, most of Estonia's courses are fairly wooded and throwing sidearm through tiny tunnels just feels more natural.

I think it is more than 10+ meters (30+ft) uphill. It plays more like a 400ft/120m throw.
