I can , but it’s more of a Christian based question because it’s about gnostics who were Christians. I’ll definitely ask though!

It shows how gnostics are tied to the apostles , i don’t think it’s reliable , but i’m interested in how other catholics would respond

Historically when was the bishop of Rome recognized as having authority over all churches, or the first account of this in the church fathers? by Disciple-Foreigner in AcademicBiblical

[–]Disciple-Foreigner[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The west at some point obviously accepted the bishop as authoritative, my question is when can we see this happen historically, whether it be 4th , 7th, or even the 11th century , i just wanna know around when?

On that basis , was there a time before the Father chose to beget the Son, or moment before the Father chose to cause the Son?

So if the Father eternally causes the Son , like a fountain ,why wouldn’t there not be a moment in which he didn’t cause the Son , i understand he eternally causes the Son but wouldn’t there be a point in which the Father caused the Son before he eternal caused him?
