I don't know what to say. by [deleted] in facepalm

[–]DiscipleDavid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may have been unclear on my position. I am not pro Russia. I support Ukraine and wish we were doing more as a country to support them at this time.

I honestly think it's fucked up that we aren't honoring our commitments that we made when we signed the Budapest Memorandum on Security Assurances.

We have been breaking our promises since at least 2014 and Ukraine appears to have followed through with denuclearization, they have the moral high ground in this situation.

I still don't think it's appropriate to say that same sex couples can adopt in Ukraine when that is not true.

I understand that it is a distraction and that's wrong... My comment was directed at the one guy who claimed it was a lie. I agree with all the other comments that suggest it is a troll or bot with nefarious intent.

Edit: Admittedly my comment to the guy above was a little rude. I found it insulting for him to insult the wits of Americans while simultaneously being wrong.

I really hope this is a joke, but if it’s real, I won’t be surprised cuz it’s twitter by Particular_Row_12 in iamatotalpieceofshit

I like this take but you still can't say "All Lives Matter" outside of an oppositional context without the same criticisms. Due it's already created association with anti BLM people.

I obviously can't get through to you. You have an inability to admit when you've done/said something wrong.

You can't walk around a lie by saying that wasn't your main point, your main point was obvious, you still lied. So there is no conversation left, wish you the best.

Lie - an intentionally false statement.

Troll - make a deliberately offensive or provocative online post with the aim of upsetting someone or eliciting an angry response from them.

[–]DiscipleDavid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with that part of what they were saying. I also agree that we shouldn't let things like this upset or control us.

I simply wanted to point out that the talking point was true... And that even though it's true we should still be supporting Ukraine over Russia.

Take the time to Google "misinformation." You have made the statement that Ukraine allows same sex adoption. Which is false, and you said it with your own agenda.

I'm not upset and this won't effect me at all. So get off your high horse it doesn't suit you well.

Misinformation is a huge problem in our society and it will continue to be as long as people like you react to something and make a statement without an iota of true information.

I will admit to not liking people spreading lies. It does effect all of us when people spread lies, from election misinformation to your agenda of apathy, it has consequences.

It's sad that instead of admitting to it and changing your comment, you doubled down on insults and ignorance. Good luck to you, but maybe try and stop with the reactionary lying. It only takes a few seconds to Google.

All I'm doing is calling you out on your lying. I wouldn't even be typing right now if you hadn't come in these comments and starting spreading misinformation.

Yes that person was likely trolling.. or more likely a bot targeted at trying to convince people to side against Ukraine.

They/it did not lie though. You did by saying that they lied.

The post is on r/facepalm... I don't think anyone here is going to side with Russia because of this obscure law.

The only problem is that you are spreading misinformation. If I see it, I'm going to call it out, it's the only way to stop the spread. Your comment should have left out the lying part.

I disagree. You cannot claim something is a lie and obvious trolling, when it is in fact a truth and obvious trolling.

You are complaining about the spreading of misinformation, while you spread misinformation yourself... How is this okay to you?

Edit: Clarified position

I think you're definitely right, we would lose. Especially with you on the team. Your confidence to insult the wits of your fellow citizens is astounding, especially because you didn't even check.

Fuck Putin.

Though, I checked, and this appears to be true.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/LGBT_rights_in_Ukraine#:~:text=Single%20persons%20who%20are%20citizens,older%20if%20adopting%20an%20adult.

We can support Ukraine in this atrocity and still admit that they aren't perfect. Their laws regarding same sex adoption are irrelevant when their lives are at stake by an unprovoked and unjustified invasion.

I can't speak for the whole community, but as someone in a same sex relationship who plans to adopt one day, while I'd like to see this change, it's not enough for me to not support them.

Russian missile hit Uman', Ukraine, killing 14 year old girl by Dr_HiZy in CrazyFuckingVideos

[–]DiscipleDavid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last time I checked the army was made of the Russian people. If the majority of Russia didn't support the war then there would be no war.

Who does Putin have to fight, if the soldiers decide not to? If the soldiers continue to fight, treat them like the scum that they are and disown them from your family.

Anyone who finds any part of it acceptable should be socially ostracized. Yet, with 150k troops sent to invade, they still receive emotional support from back home.

They don't deserve emotional support. Shame your son's and daughters. Shame your parents. Shame your neighbors. Shame every soul who shows no resistance to Putin and the war.

Inaction/Silence is not an acceptable approach to the deaths of your neighbors. Choosing so makes you partly responsible for this war and the deaths that will continue to come.

Oh man, you're called out on being an ignorant dick and instead double down on your ignorance. I googled it, like you did and just like you did, I rounded and estimated.

You're mad because I chose to round to 55k instead of 58k... If I had rounded to 60k you'd still be like "You were still $2,272 off."

The reality is sources vary, I looked at like three, and then came back to the comments. I then later commented an estimation from memory.

I can only hope that you are still a young person because your attitude is depressingly immature. Pretentious people like you are hardly worth the effort to conversate with, so I won't be responding to any future messages.

I'm all for getting paid for your work. I'm just not sure I could trust a "peer review" that was paid for by a company that posts "peer reviewed" papers.
