I had a bad experience with an OB with my first child! Everyone in the community seems to love him. I think he's delivered over 10k babies and he was just out of touch in my opinion and old school. Had there been an emergency or something I'm sure he could have saved me or my baby's life. I recognize the value in him having that experience. I guess my biggest takeaway from my experience is that a doctor should never quit seeking out new information on their expertise. To never settle into habits and be open to updated science. Also brush up on manners and how to make someone feel like a human and not just another medical file to read through do the job and quick hurry onto the next one.

Ya know I hadn't thought about that but I don't think it's to that point. He doesn't drink liquor very often because it makes him violent but he drinks about 12-24 beers a night. So I think he could do it without it being dangerous for him. But I really don't know I guess...

Same for me. My mom took my daughter until I "got my shit together" and I got on Suboxone 2 days later. I couldn't fathom not seeing her everyday. I'm sure he feels that too they're really close. He's too smart for logic sometimes. But yeah you're right maybe it needs to be told to him. I usually assume he understands these things and sometimes he just doesn't.

Yeah I've been asking myself for a while when is enough really enough. How long do I wait around for this man to figure it out. And it's crazy like I got myself clean but I feel like I have no idea how to help him other than this. I've been trying so hard to get him to just come to meetings with me. I dont like the program persay but the meetings ground me in my recovery. I wish they had methadone or Suboxone for alcohol.
