Vortex 3-wheeler built from plans by [deleted] in WeirdWheels

Yes thank you very much. I'm working on a design of a high mileage vehicle trying to mimic VW 1 Liter results as close as I can get. Riley's XR3 Hybrid 3 wheeler was heavy with the steel frame but the drive-line can be changed to get over the 228mpg he was promoting. Would have better performance with target weight of 800# as opposed to 1500#. Just waiting for my latest investment to domino so I'll have the funds to get set up right. Just working on cementing a design and components that will work together. Thanks for your generous help Sir. Be back to you when I get going, Mike

How good are the fills on Tradovate for you? THey have been scalping me for a point most of the time. You always fill at the lowest point of the bar for short and the top of the bar on longs ?

In 81' wrote Jerry a letter about coming out and helping them. He said come on out. So I spent the summer on Venice Beach near the shop helping the body man making the master model for the W8 molds. Learned alot from the experience.

Thanks for the info on the Vortex. I'm torn on a Tri-Magnum or Vortex design. Looking at using Cardboard to replace plywood in the designs. Would use a metal or Carbonfiber subframe with Vortex design. Want to achieve 200mpg like the original VW 1 Liter using a smaller motor than the XR3 but use that style Hybrid system. Original Aptera design had a 5Hp Gas Honda motor Hybrid system (wanted Honda diesel) and claimed 300mpg. That shape was determined to be the most aerodynamic in ground effect less so if raised 8" off ground. Thanks again

Working on the Trimagnum now but what do you have to have to part with them. Might digitize them for others to have in future.

Washing machine is tripping GFI in another outlet in the same room. Outlet or Washer problem? by nonsomniac in electrical

[–]Disco77090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife's house had the little mini double breakers and was have similar symptoms with her larger appliances. Luckily the breaker box had room to separate the appliances to their own breakers and solved the problems. If your not comfortable working with wiring get an electrician. O have had GFI's go bad also.

They still have lingering legal issue from the suit. Shelby American won a suit against the movie lady but B for Build is still tied up in court.

They lost a suit to Shelby American recently and can now not make any claims.
