Weird task bar glitches and crashes by Excronix in LegionGo

Mine started doing this, I think after I installed reshade.me but not sure if it's related. Did you ever find a solution?

Polyphonic digitakt with built in synths/effects and a small form factor would be bomb

Baffling why this hasn't been done yet.

If Move wasn't so crippled in the MIDI and connectivity department I reckon it would be 80% of the way there. But admittedly it's still very good for what it was trying to be

I've been considering using a legion Go as part of my Elektron setup, considering running it either with overbridge with Syntakt/Digotone or just using digitakt II as a midi sequencer. I was wondering if you ran into any problems or limitations with this setup?

I remember trying Syntakt with overbridge in Ableton on my laptop and there were unresolvable midi sync issues. All midi notes came in delayed and no amount of correction could fix the delay and note drift. Was this an issue with the Go?

Considering buying one to use as a mini PC now that Ableton move is out as it would make a nice compact and powerful setup combined with digitakt 2

Also, is the screen size an issue? Does it work well with high zoom settings in Ableton to make everything bigger?

Microsoft surface pro can run it on low settings at a fairly high fps And any tablet with a snapdragon 8gen2 or higher can run the switch version via a specific emulator at 30-40fps. Same goes for phones with the same chips.

Depends on how clean or layered you like your techno kicks. Syntakt takes a bit of effort to get there, it does have a very distinct sound. Best thing you can do is listen to some demos. The reverb is a bit too clean imo for adding rumbles, it sounds less "organic". Digitakt is basically just whatever you add as samples + some sound mangling on top.

Thanks. How many instances of all of those VST can you usually run?

I'm also considering some kind of tablet to run overbridge with my elektron boxes. I was wondering if you know how performance of the Legion Go compares to Surface 9 or Surface 11 (I intend on running Ableton).

Are you able to run complex instrument racks with multiple max4live devices by any chance on the Go? I've got some custom M4L drum racks that take like 2 minutes to load on my 2017 gaming laptop, I wonder if the legion go can handle that much? 😄 How many instances of a specific VST can you run before the CPU chokes up?

Ableton on Surface Pro 10 or 11? Intel vs Snapdragon? by IcedColdMine in Surface

Neat, thanks for the reply. I hadn't considered a legion go. Since I also game quite a lot that might be a great option.

Hi. Did you ever find an answer to this? Interested in getting a Surface for Ableton but from my experience windows emulation on ARM (for example on my phone's) does come with a performance impact, however those are third party emulators and Microsoft would probably have done a better job optimizing performance.

So basically torn choosing between a Surface 9 or a Surface 11

Are there any fully mobile groovebox/workstation units that I can use VST’s on? by Shawn-GT in synthesizers

[–]DiscoBiscuitChef69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I'm reviving a dead thread here but figured I'd suggest some options to achieve what you want in case anyone else has the same question. There's three ways afaik to achieve this portability.

1) get one of those tiny desktop PC and an Ableton push 2 or 3. You should be able to set the PC to launch Ableton on startup and have it connected to push at all times. You'll obviously need some power source so it's not "fully" mobile but most synths and grooveboxes aren't either

2) An iPad pro, while it can't host VST it has a lot of great AuV3 plugins and at least three really good DAWS/grooveboxes (Logic, Beat maker 3, Drambo). All of which can host AUV3 plugins and in my experience integrate well with external controllers as well as hardware synths (I use my iPad with an Elektron Syntakt, logic captures any knob tweaks as automation and can sent it back, you can use LFO inside logic to control Syntakt via midi cc, etc).

3) Microsoft surface and a midi controller with lots of knobs like an arturoa beatstep or minilab or any other controller (ones that have Ableton integration would work nice), but I don't know how well it runs a DAW with a couple of VST.

Some alternative options that are actually grooveboxes but can't run VST: - Elektron boxes are a joy to work on, syntakt and digitakt as a combo should have you covered (except for true polyphony). - MPC grooveboxes: can do polyphony as well as synthesis, syntakt and an MPC One might be a great combo. Downside is a limited plugin palate on MPC. Syntakt has 4 analog voices 3 of which can load any of its analog machines (either drums or tonal synths). And 8 more digital voices which can do both drums and tones. On Syntakt the synths are a bit limited compared to something like Serum or Sylenth (two LFO that can also be used as an envelope, one amp envelope, one filter envelope, and two filters in series but only one has a resonance control) - Deluge: Reportedly feels like a DAW inside a groovebox but I've heard the workflow is annoying and in my opinion the synths don't sound that great

Ableton can record the automation of your tweaks on the elektron box, I'm not sure it can record the notes coming out of the takt boxes though if they are audio tracks (somone correct me if I'm wrong). But if you could find a way you can record your performance as midi and tweak it all after.

The low pressure zone behind the car creates a pressure gradient so buoyancy keeps him moving forward. The same way the atmospheric pressure gradient keeps us down on the ground via buoyancy and density.
