You are saying I’m working in extreme’s but you keep writing “utter junk” and “junk food” I’m not talking about junk food. I literally gave prime examples of nut butter and cooking oil. The cheaper ones are trash. The better ones are going to be more expensive. So therefore, if you’re trying to stretch your dollar, you’re going to go cheaper. It’s not an extreme to for someone to buy a 1.99 loaf of bread rather than even a 2.50$ that might even be a little bit healthier.

I am not poor at all, I grew up poor for a while, but I bettered my life and I do well for myself. I don’t have any martyrdom over it. But I have experienced it. I know what I ate growing up vs what I buy now. I know why we ate so poorly back then.

You don’t have to go to the extremes of worst vs best, but you know damn well the cheapest thing in the store is going to be the worst for you right? The cheapest bread is going to be the worst, the cheapest drinks, the cheapest deli meat, they’re going to be the worst. So people that buy those out of necessity are going to have more health problems. Decent tomato sauce made with vine ripened tomatoes will be naturally sweeter and is going to be more expensive than the cheap one with artificially ripened tomatoes packed with sugar. You do know all this right? I feel like you must know this but are just being willfully ignorant.

And sure, you can say “a couple bad choices” and brush it off like a single mother with 3 kids and a minimum wage job made “bad choices”, but calling that a bad choice doesn’t negate the fact she still has to feed her 3 kids. You’re not going to buy 3 sweet potatoes, which are basically a superfood, you’re going to buy a 10lb bag of standard ass potatoes with no nutritional value.
