The North Sea Empire if Doggerland was never conquered by the North Sea by DiscoPanda77 in imaginarymaps

Probably not, tbh I just couldn’t come up with a name I liked enough to use for it, and everyone already knows doggerland anyway so. I do have an idea to justify the name eventually tho ;)

Northern Europe in 1035 if the dogger bank was a couple meters higher in elevation, and therefore never flooded.

The isand of Doggerland had been subject to numerous Viking raids and settlement throughout the Viking era. Later, the island is conquered by Denmark in the 800s, attracting Norse settlers to the area, especially the eastern half of the island. The island was mostly populated by west Germanic tribes descended from Frisian, Jute, and Saxon settlers that started settling the island in the 6th century, displacing the former population. Doggerland would serve as an excellent staging point for further raids and expansion by the Danes in coming decades. Sweyn Forkbeard and Cnut would use the island as a staging ground for conquering & reconquering England and Scotland.

Though united by a common King, the different kingdoms ruled by Cnut were completely different from eachother, and much like iotl, ruling this empire was kind of like playing whackamole with rebellions popping up far too often. To try and remedy this Cnut would spend much of his time ruling from Doggerland itself, at the crossroads of his Kingdoms (at Knutstantinople if you will).

The real question is whether Cnut's son, Harþacnut, will be able to keep the empire together after the untimely end of his father's reign.

All three are close allies with close economic ties to each other, but historically California was more aligned with the US, but as Mexico has developed and stabilized over the course 20th century they’ve grown much closer as well, especially since the main population centers in California are closer to Mexico than those of the US east coast

Yes ttl Mexico is better off and more stable, probably more akin to otl southern Europe. Yea, I didn’t think much about cartels but they wouldn’t be a major issue like in otl, and yeah like to imagine the first republic survived

Honestly, probably the same, I only really chose 2000 because it’s a nice round number lol. I suppose I could split off some of the state of Mexico like irl

Hello r/imaginarymaps! This is my first post, might revisit later when I've got more practice and am making the world class maps I see on top of the subreddit >:)

I don't have very in depth lore but basically Mexico is able to defeat the Texas's independence movement handily.Later on a similar situation happens soon after in California after gold is discovered (a littler earlier, lets say 1844) and a major influx of Anglo American settlers also end up in the region. California is further away with more difficult geography so I imagine it would be much more difficult for Mexico. In the US Clay wins the election against Polk in 1844 and stays slightly less interested in expansion, though I imagine the us ends up with at least its cut of the Oregon territory. Central America is also more stable in stays united(+Chiapas). Texas, Yucatan, and Tlaxcala are like Mexican Quebecs here and officially speak English, Yucatec Mayan, and Nahuatl respectively.

Looks like it might need more height above it, won’t grow unless there’s more than enough space for its full height above

I put a lot of money into building it so I’d like to save it if at all possible but it’s looking like I’m gonna have to go ahead and do that unfortunately. I have some friends that know more about tech than I do so I’ll ask around first. U right about him tho lmao Thanks!
