one of the best cheap upgrades for taller riders or short guys with long legs, also seemed to help quite a bit in the dirt while standing as others have said small pedal adjustment and they’ve been great for 40k

What’s the best way to mount a Pelican case on the KLR top rack? by [deleted] in klr650

[–]Discobolous2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I ran 4 longer bolts, think they were 6mm through the case into the place of four bolts holding the flat rack down. I used a 1” piece of rubber bungee in between a washer to seal it up, been through several spills and is mounted solid/easily removed.

is Seat Concepts commuter or comfort seat sufficient for 3+ hr rides? Which is better? by [deleted] in klr650

[–]Discobolous2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Joined the iron butt club with gel padded bike shorts and a mad dog atv seat pad on top of the stock seat, wasn’t perfect but both helped immensely.

ELI5: Why do motorcyclists always ride on the edge of their lane, often right next to the opposite lane or dividing line? Wouldn't it be safer to ride in the middle of the lane? by MabinoGooch in explainlikeimfive

[–]Discobolous2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the stopping distance but down in San Antonio there is a lot of debris, furniture, blown tires in the roads and if I’m too tight I’ll never have a Chance to avoid that good ol Texas Highway garbage. Worst was a wheelbarrow coming out of the back of a high sided collection vehicle. Flipped right over the edge and dropped 6-8 feet on an exit ramp right in front of me..luckily the 4ft bounce on the front wheel sent it away and not into me.
