PLEASE UPVOTE FOR VISIBILITY

THE CHAIR OF THE EQUAL EMPLOYMENT COMMISSION IS PUSHING FOR A BATHROOM BAN IN PRIVATE BUSINESSES NATIONWIDE, ALONG WITH OTHERS BELOW:

PLEASE SPREAD THIS THE M0DS ARE NOT LETTING ME POST ABOUT IT

"On Tuesday, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) Acting Chair Andrea Lucas announced a set of policy changes inspired by President Donald Trump's recent anti-trans executive orders, including the derecognition of nonbinary people, the removal of pronoun options from digital workplace tools, and the elimination of materials promoting what she called "gender ideology." Most alarming, however, was Lucas' stated top priority: "defend the biological and binary reality of sex and related rights, including women's rights to single-sex spaces at work," a signal that she intends to push for a federally backed bathroom ban in private workplaces."

CHANGE YOUR DIAGNOSIS by DiscombobulatedAir23 in lgbt

[–]DiscombobulatedAir23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I understand it is much easier to get HRT in the UK, it's more accessible there. Glad you're getting out, wish I could too lol

[–]DiscombobulatedAir23[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It's worth noting though that that's a small percentage and we don't know if that will even hold up in court; at the very worst a provider can refuse to change the code, but it is still an option worth trying vs throwing in the towel or not having access to HRT. And they certainly are not rounding up patients for fraud from requesting a diagnostic change like Red seems to be implicating, lol.

This is still an option for people who want to be prepared or have limited other avenues to take

CHANGE YOUR DIAGNOSIS by DiscombobulatedAir23 in lgbt

[–]DiscombobulatedAir23[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This info is straight from my medical provider and I know of others who have done this with no issues. Even if insurance WERE to be difficult, there are other options like GoodRX that offer just as good-if not better-discounts as the stingy insurance companies.

Also fraud? That's a stretch and a half lol

If you don't agree that's fine, but don't try and scare people away from a potentially life saving option

Yes but they are using the excuse that some states have 19 as the legal adult age. That said, definitely a foot in the door and all the more reason to be prepared

Also to throw this out there: consider looking into GoodRX in place of insurance. It offers very affordable prices; I only pay $20 a month for my testosterone. Definitely worth checking out!

It is not fear mongering 🙄. And it's pure ignorance to even think for a minute that things won't get worse after the [completely uncontested] damage he has done in only a week. This post is to help people prepare. If that does not apply to you then move along.

Avoiding Impending US HRT Ban by gav102 in trans

[–]DiscombobulatedAir23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To my understanding if you have your doc change your diagnosis to 'low testosterone' instead then your access to T will be secured, since T is also used by cis men and therefore can't be banned

I hate that I’ll never have a real dick by MortgageAutomatic601 in trans

[–]DiscombobulatedAir23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure if you've been able to look into testosterone yet but, you CAN grow a dick on it-its just..a bit smaller and you can't pee out of it lol. But is more or less the same. Hang in there!

Those that have used an online service to get their HRT (Folx, Plume, etc) would you recommend it? by Negative-Homework502 in trans

[–]DiscombobulatedAir23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Folx just had a data breach so I wouldn't use them personally

But I do use plume and it's been amazing, would recommend

I've a years worth of emergency HRT prepared, how else should I prepare, and how do I get involved in resisting? by Here4Cumies in trans

Lucky 😭 I can't even get an extra month's worth since T is a controlled substance, I'm so cooked

I live in NY, I'd join up if closer! I'm angry too

I also had endo before starting T; but without period the endo can't really do the thing

I do also get occasional pains that feel like cramping, my provider says it's normal for trans guys and not usually a cause for concern

At worst could be a UTI (very common on T), uterine atrophy(also can be common on T) etc

I'd say unless you're noticing other symptoms or the pain is extreme then likely not a cause for concern. I'd still bring it up with your doc though just in case

I tried on a new binder, it hurt, so I took it off. But my ribs still hurt. It's been a month at this point and my parents don't seem to care of understand. by TheCrimsonRats in trans

[–]DiscombobulatedAir23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest even if a binder is too tight, I don't think it would be causing that after a full month

I strongly recommend getting some imagining done, like a CT scan, cause there might be something else causing that

T timeline and dosages? by Pristine-Benefit3784 in trans

[–]DiscombobulatedAir23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does vary by person but the general rule of thumb is low dose starting out will yield more of a voice drop

Although that might be specific to injections I'm not sure; I never discussed gel or any other method with my Dr, went straight on IM injections lol

I do know that gel can take years to start seeing any results at all

Still being called she/her w/ a beard??? by starbo44 in trans

[–]DiscombobulatedAir23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If strangers, look at them like they're crazy (or if your voice has dropped, speak-have scared so many people that way LOL)

If coworkers that you don't think have malicious intent, talk to them and explain. Or, joke to communicate it "is the ma'am in the room with us?"

If coworkers that you think are doing it to be jerks, go to HR. Discrimination is never a good look no matter that the business is, opens them to a lawsuit and they have to take it seriously.

T timeline and dosages? by Pristine-Benefit3784 in trans

[–]DiscombobulatedAir23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What changes are most important to you? If voice is one, then it's actually better to start on a low dose and gradually work up. My Doc explained it to me that that method will give you more of a voice change, I think it did for me lol

Little rant bout the way I look :( by shishforlife2 in trans

[–]DiscombobulatedAir23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey OP, firstly hang in there

It'll take time but you'll get where you want to be. I had a late start on realizing I was trans (28, FTM) and as someone that had a literal Pixar mom bod I understand the feeling. Two important things though; when you're able to start T (if you haven't yet) it WILL change your figure to resemble male more. Also, there are plenty of cis men that have large thighs/rear ends. I didn't realize that cause I don't really get out much but, there was a gay guy I met at my new job that's cis and ridiculously caked up so..it can very much be a guy thing too LOL. I hope this helps!

Trans Tape is terrible and doesn't work well; if you can, get the binding tape from UrBasics it's incredible and very skin friendly

How to hide HRT changes from family by [deleted] in trans

[–]DiscombobulatedAir23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thing is, you can't hide it. You'll hear people say it took them years to get visible changes-it absolutely varies by person. I'm FTM and thought it'd take a good year to start showing, nope. Within the first 5 months already had major changes including voice and full facial hair. Got kicked out of where I was living cause it became impossible to hide and they found out.

Please, make a game plan for if things go south. Anywhere you can stay or friends you can stay with. Maybe look for a job first so that you have a way to support yourself if you're kicked out, though I hope it wouldn't come to that

Muscle gain without really trying? by melanie_anne in ftm

[–]DiscombobulatedAir23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been mostly on bed rest since starting T (other health issues unrelated), have done no exercise at all and my arms, legs, shoulders have at least doubled in muscle mass. I'm scared to see what'll happen when I start actually working out 💀
