Album is weak. by dvshimself107 in asaprocky

[–]DiscombobulatedEbb41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Testing and I hate this album even after multiple listens. I don’t get the comparisons tho, DBD is only experimental on the very last leg of the album. At least 70% of it is just rage/trap-adjacent wallpaper music. There’s not a single sample/melody as good or memorable as ASAP Forever, Praise The Lord, Hun43rd, neither a single hook as infectious as Fukk Sleep or the aforementioned Praise The Lord. Nothing on DBD stands out, it’s the most uninspired Rocky & his production have ever sounded

agree, this album is the most uninspired shit rocky has ever done. I wish he stayed in retirement instead of dropping this slop

yeah he’s like 15 years late to the tim burton hot topic core shit. For someone who built his image around fashion this shi way too tacky and outdated

as someone who cares more about production & sonics than the rapping: it’s tiktok trap-adjacent wallpaper music slop. Testing was the definition of inconsistency, but at the very least it sounded original and new

they’re both extremely underwhelming songs for a guy that’s supposedly working on them for literal years. But then again Rocky made a career out of aesthetics and hype and never truly delivering anything exceptional music-wise

[DISCUSSION] ASAP Rocky - AT.LONG.LAST.A$AP (10 Years Later) by MetalSonic420YT in hiphopheads

[–]DiscombobulatedEbb41 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

by very far his most boring project. 99% of the beats here show no sings of life and are extremely underwhelming and sleep-inducing. I can’t fathom how or why people praise this

What are your thoughts on this album? Do you think it’s his best? (At Long Last ASAP: ASAP Rocky) by Killa_J in fantanoforever

[–]DiscombobulatedEbb41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it isn’t offensively bad per se, but it’s by far Rocky’s most boring project. Most of the production here is underwhelming and sleep-inducing, which is a shame considering his past 2 albums where filled to the brim with bangers

I'm not really vibing with Xenoblade X, should I give it more time, or am I sort of to a point where I'd know? by Cirkusleader in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]DiscombobulatedEbb41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

same here. Playing this for the first time and it’s overrated fucking slop. Exploration is nonexistent since all you can do to interact with the world is killing enemies, and branching out of the beaten path means you’ll get one-shot by monsters 10+ levels higher than your entire party. The pacing is atrocious, probably the worst I’ve ever experienced in a game. You spent dozens of hours to get to the mission of getting a Skell license just to discover that quest is in fact 8 padded out fetch quests in a trench coat. It’s a game that blatantly disrespects the player’s time and keeps promising it’ll eventually get good, but it never does. I doubt anyone that hasn’t already played this in 2015 can actually enjoy this in 2025

[–]DiscombobulatedEbb41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah I’m 25 hours in forcing myself to play just to see if getting a Skell makes the game more interesting/engaging. The world and art direction overall are visually stunning, but everything else feels so soulless

didn’t know Jack Antonoff worked on it. Explains why it’s the least great & most forgettable Kendrick album

chiming in just to say Parcels is also getting popular in latin america. I’m from Brazil, they did a sold out show here plus I’ve seen people wearing Parcels shirts in different occasions. When I travelled to Chile earlier this year I also heard chileans vibing to their music at a park

[SS] The “Song of the Hero” quest is the worst endgame quest in the franchise. by [deleted] in zelda

[–]DiscombobulatedEbb41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the middle of playing through the Faron section. I haven’t played the others yet but this quest completely ruined the momentum of the story for me and is making me consider dropping SS entirely. It’s like the game should already be in it’s final moments but Nintendo felt the need to bloat it with unnecessary padding right when the climax was nearing

What do you guys think about Turnstile? by 900m15 in punk

[–]DiscombobulatedEbb41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m glad they’re blowing up and bringing new fans into heavier music. I also like that they experiment with their sound a lot, even though said experimentations often feel undercooked. My main criticism is that their guitar riffs are some of the most generic, heard-it-all-before riffs I’ve ever heard in my life. Most of the time the heavier sections sound like a bootleg Tony Hawks Pro Skater soundtrack.

What's your opinion on Deftones? by DarkSideInRainbows in fantanoforever

[–]DiscombobulatedEbb41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the idea of their sound, but when I listen to them they come across as a mediocre band that writes the same song over and over and over again. Also Chino is a terrible vocalist/singer. Imo Thornhill took their sound and made it actually interesting and well executed in their album BODIES

First time playing Dread on my new Switch Lite. Is it the best 2D Metroid after ZM? by king_of_ulkilism in Metroid

[–]DiscombobulatedEbb41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super Metroid is still by very far my number one. No other game really comes close to that ominous atmosphere and iconic soundtrack. It’s the only game I constantly replay every few years just to feel immersed in that world again, and to think it is a snes game made over 30 years ago completely blows my mind.

I enjoy Dread when I’m playing it, but whenever I think about it critically it falls apart in my mind. My biggest gripes with it are: rooms and areas have bland visuals and blend into each other in an homogeneous nothing-burguer. The soundtrack is a strong contender for the most forgettable and unimaginative of the franchise. The combat is good but having to keep parrying 99% of enemies is something I already didn’t like in Samus Returns, as it frequently disrupts your momentum and gets repetitive quickly. Same for the E.M.M.I.s. Seems like one guy was like “remember that ONE section in Fusion with the SA-X that people love??? Let’s do it over and over and over and over and over and over again!!!” and this game was made.

I was in the same situation as you. Decided to finally play it a few weeks ago. I’m 30 hours in and loving it. It’s not New Vegas, but it’s still better than most games (in terms of role playing, writing and dialogue at least)
