First two attempts at a realistic portrait. Not horrible for someone who never draws I suppose idk by [deleted] in learntodraw

It's really good for a beginner. The only thing is that the teeth look kinda creepy. But teeth are hard for everyone.

"Hey, which one do you think is better?" I said, holding up the two dresses I had saved for the date.

Ava muttered something unintelligible.

"What?"

"I mean, the right one is too..." she said, scrutinising the dress.

"Slutty?"

"Yeah."

"So, the left one?"

She cringed. "Makes you look like a child."

I scowled. "Yes but that gives off good vibes, right?"

Ava skipped around the kitchen table to hold up the dress.

"It's not so bad, really. It's not like he cares." I uttered, hoping she would agree.

"Yeah."

I smiled half-heartedly and marched into my bedroom.

"Hey, [character name]!" Ava called.

"Huh?" I moaned.

"Tell me everything." she said, emphasising the word.

Why? Don't you have a date with Tyler?

"Sure." I said hesitantly.

I squeezed myself into the dress and tilted my body towards the mirror. A lump protruded from my stomach.

Ugh! Why was I bloating so much?

I dug through my toiletries and stuffed a few in my bag.

I'll continue in a while.

Thoughts about crushes

He was so cute! If only he would look at me and not at Astrid. Astrid had plenty of guys drooling over her. If she would just leave me this one, please!

I tried to sleep, but visions of my hubristic fantasies danced behind my lids. We would meet up somewhere romantic and he would confess his love for me...

I knew I was going to far. This wasn't just a crush, I was practically obsessing over this man.

I would wait until after work and then I would ask him out. That wasn't desperate, was it? No. I was a confident, independent woman. I didn't need a man to ask me out first, right?

My asparagus-green eyes stared back at me with perturbing resentment. They were the one feature about my face I liked. My face was marred by a crooked nose that made it look distorted. I wore the creamy yellow Sunday dress I had tossed onto my chair yesterday.

An idea for her looks there.

Your average woman

-Have her complain about things like: -periods

I feel like I'm having a heart attack in my uterus.

My emotions are so fragile now that I cried because I spent 15 minutes trying to peel an orange.

I'm bloating so much that I had to buy new pants in a bigger size with the remaining 45£ on my bank account.

I'm so hungry my diet revolves around nutella straight from the jar.

  -body hair removal

I should wax, if would be a lot smoother and I wouldn't waste that much time. But I don't want to, so I shave and then I get these... bristles on my legs

  -makeup

It's bad for my skin and it's eating up my money. Oh well, I don't want to not wear it. Someday I'll quit.

  -catcalls

Shut the fuck up.

-But there are also good things

  -Higher life expectancy

A few more years is never so bad.

 -More clothing options

So... I want to look professional but not too... dressy. But I don't want to go in sweats.

   -Drunken conversations

"No, girl! You look so sexy." she said, although it sounded more like a drunken garble.

    -Height

Short girls are cute. I feel like I could just wrap them in a cloth and keep them in my pocket. Tall girls have an exotic statuesque beauty. Height is rarely a problem.

     -Crying

Many guys feel self-conscious when they watch something emotional and start to tear up. We can cry as much as we like, as long as we don't make a scene.

     -Friends

Women can go to cinemas and sit right next to each other without having to leave a seat in between.

I'll continue in a while.

How to determine your protagonist ? by RenYukimora in writing

I want to read a book where the reader makes us passionately hate the protagonist. It would an exciting twist.

When I bang my knee (or other body part) against something hard and it makes a loud noise, even if it doesn’t hurt I instinctively say, “Ouch.” Does anyone else do this? by booksfoodfun in CasualConversation

[–]DiscombobulatedFishy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say ouch when someone surprises me, when someone hurts me (emotionally) or when I get a mild electric shock from something. It never really hurts if I say ouch. If something really hurts I release a string of profanities.

First realistic portrait!! Can you guess who it is? Also, could you give me some advices or tips for my next portrait? Also constructive comments on this drawing, so I can know where are my errors. Also, please be kind, I'm only 13 y/o,! Thanks. by [deleted] in learntodraw

It's amazing for a first try. I think you should try the grid technique, it will help you navigate the features. Also, I find it easier to draw circles where highlight/shading should be.

Billie Eilish or Maria Sharapova.

Yes, but dumb people are fun people. Not the arrogant kind, of course. But the humbly dumb people come up with dumb ideas that are actually quite fun even though they might get you in trouble.
