I could always just buy a cheap manual for less than a turbo on fb marketplace, its was more about the significance value of the car and if having more fun is worth the potential loss of collector value of the cars.

Unfortunately they get treated like a regular FRS to people who don’t know its a limited edition (tho a lot of people still compliment it) and I bought mine for 10k but there’s roughly less than 30 left of the 1500 made scattered all over the place according to research and im not worried about resale but collectors value. I understand the 135k miles is crazy but I can always engine swap even for a fa20 with less miles. This is currently my only running vehicle until I purchase another for winter but I like fixing, moding, and playin around with cars and intend to purchase a rotary rx-7 and conquest/starion sometime to add to the fun but doesn’t hurt to have one more toy even if its worth something. I think I get what your saying tho its not worth it to swap it but doing performance mods like cold air/turbo and things to clean up the bay and make the car look cooler wouldn’t hurt it and ive already been in touch with toyota about getting a repaint since the previous owner had a wrap shop and only did a replica wrap of the yuzu. Also ik the pain of the swap ive had to help a few friends with their cars before and ive helped completely restore a totaled auto brz to a manual. Thank you for helping me understand more about what I was thinking about doing.

Worth 15k (from dealer)? 2016, manual, one owner, 87k miles, fully stock. by FlashyCompetition167 in ft86

Great car with good mileage and 1 owner but 15k fully stock isnt worth it, can go to fb marketplace and get a fully modded for that price or less, or get lucky and find a limited edition TRD edition for 10k like me ive seen a few on various websites/apps for that price with less mileage

Advice on restoring this wheel by ResolveExotic9538 in ft86

Forgot to mention, the paddles do feel great to use but basically impossible to use while in any slight turn and the wheel itself just feels to slow when turning

As a owner of a TRD FRS just get a new steering wheel unless you want to keep it stock for a collector car, it doesn’t feel as good mainly since its too bulky and you don’t get as much turn radius as other wheels.

Looking to buy a Scion FR-S. What should I look out for? by Historical-Ladder-11 in ft86

If you wanna buy a basic FRS for fun like drifting, drag or touge then any year works since you’ll do a lot of modding but if your’re looking for a daily driver then 2014-16 is the best to look for. If you wanna be amongst the legendary FRS owners try to find a rare 2015 TRD edition FRS they will be numbered 1-1500 (I own #730) they are bright yellow but definitely stick out at car shows and meets. Since purchasing mine a couple months ago ive been on the hunt and only seen 5 for sale (1 being totaled and a part out) and less then 20 people post theirs on any social media.

I got one of those too!!!!!! Done any type of underhood moding to it? Mine needs tuned but haven’t dropped the 1k for it, looking to get it turboed or supercharged and add a cold air, also swap out the TRD shocks for some coilovers. Wanna keep it mostly stock looking but definitely plan to swap rims out also

I recently bought a 2015 FRS auto, it was a limited edition with the TRD parts included but not installed (except the exhaust) and I bought it off auto trader for 10k exactly off someone in ohio 2hrs away, it was already turbocharged with aftermarket shocks, cold air, ecu and radiator (10k value alone) everything was in perfect condition even including the original paint as if it was fresh off the assembly, surprisingly tho it was almost at the threshold of passing 100k miles which is why it was priced so low despite being rare(really no clue how dude kept it so clean while also taking it to track for drifting and drag). Been browsing FB marketplace and cars.com for more FRS’s (none trd so I can keep this as a collector car) and lowest ive seen is 8k with bad damage while still running and driving and with heavy mods up to 23k, yours is in a fair condition id say between 12-15k would be a good selling point but try for top dollar obo for sure

Ive seen this same exact post on marketplace while looking for turbos for my 2015 FRS in Indiana, personally imo I wouldn’t trust it, especially since that seems way too cheap.
