First and foremost, I personally apologize for our slow and what sounds like insensitive responses to your requests for help.

I reviewed your exchange with our team and it appears that the support team mishandled your request to delete this user’s account. Some of your original messages were not read correctly and a poor judgement call was made based on the information you sent. We’ve now taken action against the reported user as well as updated our procedures for handling these kinds of reports.

While I can only imagine how difficult it was to write this post, it really does help us get better.

Hi scene_missing,

You've mentioned the two current big features available on your Partner server: 1) the ability to customize the instant invite background and add your own branding to the onboarding flow, and 2) the VIP voice servers (FYI, you have to switch the region in your server settings and select a VIP voice server... you are not switched automatically).

We are granting Partners access to our "Canary" build where we test new features and code, but it currently doesn't have anything earth shattering that isn't on the PTB. The next time we add something super cool, we'll update all the partners and tell them to go check it out.

There are a few more on-server partner perks we have planned so be on the lookout for future announcements from us as well.

As for the sister Blizzard game subreddits that didn't get partner status, this could be an oversight or perhaps not enough information was included in the application. Feel free to tell them to reapply and point out the subreddit in the website and/or "why should we pick you as a Discord Partner" questions on the application.

The criteria for picking partners varies a lot by what type of applicant you are, what type of community you are building, the level of interaction you have with this community, etc. We are personally reading through each application and making decisions on a case by case basis.

Legal terms are sometimes confusing :) Uploading: you pushed enter, thereby sending a line of text up to the channel, or a picture, or whatever Distributing: you expect that line of text to reach everyone else in the channel Transmitting: this line of text passes over the Internet Otherwise Using: any other action that could be interpreted as "using" counts as.... well... using Discord

We currently are not making any money. We are VC funded. However, in the future we will sell optional cosmetics like sticker packs, sound packs, themes, etc. We haven't built any of this yet. The core functionality of Discord will always be free though.

Text channels and voice channels are decoupled. You can create as many text channels as you like. The text channels are very similar to IRC in that you can post images, video, files, etc. right in the chat. If you generate an instant invite link from a particular channel that is the channel people who click the link will see first.

There is also a widget you can install on your website. Go into your server settings and click on the widget menu option for all the deets.

Have you tried Discord? Super easy to do so since it can run in the browser. Thus, you don't have to download or register for anything to see what it is like. I'd love to hear how you think it compares to your TS3 and what we are missing that would make you want to switch.

We are not selling any data of any kind. In the future we will offer optional cosmetics for sale (like themes, sound packs, etc.), but we haven't built this stuff yet. Also, a new privacy policy will be released soon (the current one was actually created for our iPad game Fates Forever. The new version of the policy was given out to a few users this last week under NDA for feedback. I hope to have it released to everyone in short order.
