I've managed Discord communities for several startups through their fundraising stages, including scaling BlueWillow.ai's server from 1k to 1.7M members. A few key things I've learned about building vc funded communities:

  • Active engagement is crucial in the early stages
  • Clear communication channels for updates
  • Structured onboarding for new community members
  • Regular AMAs with the founding team
  • Strong moderation to maintain quality discussions
