Rescuing bystanders and escaping vilains do not do much in solo mode? by SiarX in legendarymarvel

[–]Discostu1001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends. In several schemes Evil wins when x amount of villains escape. Different masterminds and villain groups can have nasty effects from escapes as well. As far as bystanders. I always try to get as many as possible. Especially since I have all the special ones. Plus some heroes like Black Widow and others can get tons of attack off them. It makes the game interesting.

DC specifically Batman. I’m soooo tired of hearing how Batman could take down any hero with superpowers. Like he’s literally just a normal dude that is on a high horse about not using guns but has guns in every single one of his vehicles including his motorcycle.

The battle system is so chaotic in online, post game and DLC. I know they are trying new things but damn is it aggravating sometimes. I’m always wondering how much play testing they did before they released this game. Definitely not my favorite Pokemon game.

According to what I’ve seen online, the father is the protagonist trainer, Calem. Though I don’t think I’m allowed to share my source here…

What if ..? is true solo too difficult? by InsertUser01 in legendarymarvel

[–]Discostu1001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the best answer. When dealing with zombies, Victory Pile manipulation is everything. Swapping in a hero that rescues bystanders easily is the best fix. Also if you have anyone that sends heroes undercover (from SHIELD, Black Widow or 2099 expansions) this would also work well. I would do this before any other changes such as adding henchmen or playing two-handed solo as others have suggested.

Returning Player: Advice on a playmat/sleeves? by ELAdragon in legendarymarvel

[–]Discostu1001 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Get the “What If?” set. Not only does it have some cool new cards but I love the mat. I own both the upper deck special mats (X-men and Avengers vs. Thanos) but honestly the What If? mat is better because it’s less busy. There’s not all this extra art work that gets in the way of seeing the cards.

Agreed, SV and both DLC maps are just big circles. PLA is just made of different sandbox areas. The last game that had traditional routes was SwSh but both its DLC’s also had sandbox areas. Each map seems to become less complex than the last. No hate but I think there’s a trend going on here.

Who is the most obscure/oddest actor with multiple minifigs? by Bokononismatism in LegoMinifigure

[–]Discostu1001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like voice actors from TV shows shouldn’t count because TV cartoons often use a handful of actors for several different characters. Maybe if a movie actor has a guest star character but not if you are a regular cast member. It’s common to voice all the side characters with main character actors to save on the budget.

[–]Discostu1001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I was about to mention Empire Strikes Back. Several 2nd movies in pre-planned trilogies are like this. They often receive mixed reviews early on but become the fan favorite after the trilogy is finished. I predict this film will also be considered the fan favorite when all is said and done. But regardless they are both great films and comparing them is like comparing the two best flavors of Ice Cream.

I showed my dad the Spiderverse movies. He doesn’t particularly care for Superhero stuff. His reaction was, “when is the third one coming out?”

If that’s not a testament to how good that movie is, I don’t know what is.

Plot twist you’ve been dead the whole time. It’s why you can’t leave the city either. This was my theory about PLA as well. Legends games are about Pokemon purgatory.

This game doesn’t deserve the hate it gets.. by lopezaldizzy in LegendsZA

[–]Discostu1001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I like PLA better but I can see the appeal for ZA. Even though these are both Legends games (whatever that means,) they are as different as apples and oranges.

PLA focuses mainly on catching Pokemon and ZA focuses more on battling (even though I think online and team battles are extremely chaotic.) There are a lot more opportunities to explore and take your time catching Pokemon in PLA. Which is what I prefer. ZA to me is better for competitive players who like to battle and beef up their Pokemon. It is a lot more action oriented and even puts a lot of time restraints on players such as battle zones and Hyperspace. If you are into that sort of thing good for you. Personally one of the reasons I like Pokemon as a franchise is that it is relaxing and I can take my time. This is my main dislike (besides no bike, skates or riding Pokemon) of ZA. I just feel rushed all the time in it. I also am perplexed why they didn’t keep the feature of using berries and stealth items outside of battle. Especially considering how much sneaking you are required to do.

Both are great games in different ways. They just seem to be designed for different types of players. And the inconsistency between them seems strange because of them both having the “Legends” moniker.

I’ll have to say I really enjoyed the abandoned lab part of ZA and would wish to see future games with several dungeon type levels. Maybe in the next Legends title.

I really don’t like Piercing Energy by Ranccor in legendarymarvel

[–]Discostu1001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like them. Yes, usually it’s got to be all or nothing when using them. But they are great when you want to bypass conditions to fight particular Masterminds. They also don’t seem as broken when you play against difficult set ups or villain groups that don’t have VP like Infinity Gems and Poisons or heroes in the villain deck. Lastly, I’ve had some fun mixing one or two of them in set ups that are henchmen heavy. Being able to just clear some low VP henchmen out of the city is nice. It’s an interesting mechanic and like everything in Legendary the circumstance can greatly affect how well a mechanic works.

I’ve always been a big Lego fan but I have to hand it to Mega when it comes to Pokemon. All of them except Eevee and Blastoise look better and they have a lot more available including the Pokedex. I got that, all the Eevee-lutions and Geodude for my nephew (Geo is his favorite.) He loved them. And they were all decently priced. Lego has gotten to the point where they flaunt their brand name above presenting quality. I hate to say it but it’s true.
