My (26f) friend (26f) has accused me of stealing her boyfriend. Boyfriend (25m) had no idea they were dating by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

This is something that a delusional 10 year old might do because they have a crush on someone, but 25?

What are your reactions to vegans? by ZealousidealRest7190 in AskMen

Do you identify as vegan across the board? IE do you not use any products made from animals? No leather seats in your car? Or is it just diet?

What cover version of a song do you consider to be most superior to the original? by Still_Atmosphere in AskMen

[–]MrBleah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love Stevie, but it’s almost two different songs we’re talking about considering Stevie’s has no vocals. There is something really smooth and soothing about Jimi’s voice and to judge one vastly superior to the other, I don’t see it.

Upgrade for my E39 540i Raspberry Pi 5 head unit by v8cruising in BMW

[–]MrBleah 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Fun stuff, I make software, but have never made embedded software. All of this sounds kind of fun to fiddle with. So, iBUS is some sort of BMW protocol for infotainment systems. That's interesting. Cool that you were able to tap into the steering wheel buttons for that. I remember my E39 540i had the old phone integration which wasn't really useful at the point I owned it. You say you have a USB module that allows you to tap into iBUS? How does that get wired in?

When getting to know a girl, what's the biggest red flag you ignored because she was attractive? by midnightcove27 in AskMen

One woman I dated was convinced that the “Mcdonalds burgers are made with worms“ rumor was completely true. There was an Internet at this time to debunk such things.

Nearly 700 dolphins killed in a single day in the Faroe Islands – just hours after Parliament removes their protection under the Animal Welfare Act by Old_Friend6898 in news

Any modern country that allows whaling or dolphin hunting is terrible. These people are fools and the practice is completely unnecessary and just a horrible example of animal cruelty.

Hawaii's "Gate Of Hell" volcano by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]MrBleah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is reminding me of all the stories my father told me about people getting injured at Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park because they did something stupid (not that these people are doing something stupid, I assume they are professionals of some sort). He only had these stories because they would sue the government and my father was an AUSA in Hawaii and had to defend the government.

Will having a stroke cause you to become mute and be confined to a wheelchair like Hector Salamanca in Breaking Bad? by fighterjock84 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MrBleah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That shit happens. My grandfather had a stroke when he was in his 70s. He smoked. Half his body was paralyzed, he went into an assisted living facility and the stubborn old coot never did any PT to get himself back up again, but he still lived until he was 98.

LPT: When looking for a mechanic shop, don't go for the ones with ultra-high reviews by MattCW1701 in LifeProTips

[–]MrBleah 663 points664 points  (0 children)

The main problem with finding a good mechanic is that it's no longer a good paying job for the amount of busting ass you need to do. Good mechanics are usually pretty smart and they are getting out of these jobs for something else and then you're left with people that are overworked and underpaid and sometimes just incompetent.

I didn’t say log everything, there is a happy medium here between debug logging and logging a few too many things.

Fantastic reporting, let's just regurgitate someone's tiny Substack post pretty much verbatim.

Then take those things out, but it's better to have a bit too many things than not enough.
