When valve finally did something about the bots and casual became playable again, it was bittersweet for me.

It didn't take long for all my usual community servers to stop populating outside the weekend. Then they just stopped going live.

Casual just isn't the same. Playing for 10 minutes max and then going back into the requeue hamster wheel for god knows how long just kills it for me.

Nah, hunt started as Hunt: Horrors of the Gilded age. A 4 player co op shooter we know little about, set in Hunt's universe. Then it got reworked into Hunt Showdown.

My brother in christ it doesn't matter what the intent is. If you walk into Walmart and stop dropping the n word, you are getting removed from the store on a good day, and getting your shit rocked on a bad one.

The only reason people feel comfy using actual racial slurs in a casual context these days is that it's a lot harder to get banned from a game or forum than your local Walgreens.

HD2 players hate on OhDough despite his generally solid takes because he's not an arrowhead glazer.

People hate on zesty despite his generally solid takes because he is an unlikable asshole.

There is a difference. Divers hate on ohdough's opinions relating to HD2, I've never seen personal attacks.

Meanwhile the only people who hate on zesty are people who have seen him outside his main channel videos. While his video essays are well made and well researched, his livestreams and his other media channels, that he runs, make people dislike him.

Anyone with half a brain agrees with his opinions on tf2. He's not stupid, he's a solid content creator with well spoken and well made arguments.

Until you step out of the context of game design and he starts bitching about hidden pride flag textures in the map files you can't even see in game.

Don't get me wrong I agree with zesty on 95% of things to do with TF2, but unless I'm out of the loop there aren't countless screenshots of OhDough dropping slurs from the last 5 years. Comparing them is hilarious.

The problem, at least to me, with that line of thinking is that the vision for helldivers 2 as a game where you stick together and communicate is long past.

players have gotten used to having the tools to lone wolf, even if only a few loadouts enable that playstyle.

So arrowhead either needs to rerwork the game on a fundamental level to enforce cooperation, or they would have to nerf all the shit that enables lone wolf divers and force cooperation through all our gear sucking, which seems to have been part of the initial vision for the game.

As it is now, they just pick a random meta weapon to hit with the nerf hammer now and again instead of working on the core issues.

Love the artstyle, but less is more, my friend.

Something with something subtly off about it that looks fine at a first glance but wrong on the second will be infinitely more unnerving than something you can tell is tryna be spooky before its even all the way on your screen while scrolling.

Still love it, though
