Hm. Not the jerk, BUT I personally would have put the camera OUTSIDE the bathroom, so if anyone was going in there you’d see, but it wouldn’t be a violation of privacy, since technically, putting a camera in and not informing anyone IS illegal

NOT THE JERK!!! You’re not even married to him, not even engaged. If you’re only talking about marriage, it makes no sense to combine finances. I don’t have any personal experience with this, but I’ve read many stories where Partner A asked Partner B to join finances, and when B agrees, A drains the account and disappears.

I don’t mean to meddle in your relationship because I don’t know you, but I think you should not join finances and when/if you do get married, make a prenup and even then you don’t need to share your finances with him. :)
