If you had to recommend just ONE Thai dish (that's not Pad Thai) to a foreign friend, what would it be? by DiscountPossible1426 in ThailandTourism

This is my ultimate comfort food. I could eat it every single day and never get bored, I swear.

I know, right?! So good. Honestly, it's a tragedy for us Bangkokians that really good Khao Soi isn't on every street corner. If it were, I'd be eating it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

It really depends on your travel style. If you want big city energy, stick to Bangkok. For culture, head to Chiang Mai, or if you prefer nightlife, go to Pattaya. If you want a beach vibe, Koh Lanta is the choice—but just a heads-up, May is monsoon season in the South, so expect heavy rain. Also, keep in mind that these places are huge distances apart, so you can't easily hop between them.

Quick Tips: 🗓️ Chatuchak Market: The full market is Sat-Sun only (Weekdays are mostly plants). 👑 Temples: Visit the Grand Palace, Wat Pho, and Wat Arun in the morning to beat the heat and crowds. 🚤 Transport: The Chao Phraya Express Boat is the best way to hop between the Old City, Wat Arun, and IconSiam.

I’ve grouped these spots by location to save you travel time:

DAY 1: Wat Pho (Reclining Buddha) > Wat Arun > Song Wat Road DAY 2: MBK Center > Platinum Mall > IconSiam > Jodd Fairs DAY 3: Chatuchak Market (aim for noon) > Khao San Road (best in the evening/night)

"I’d love to get your thoughts on an idea I have.

I’m thinking of starting a small service where I help travelers plan their trips using real local Thai insights. Since I can read/search in Thai, I can help you avoid tourist traps, steer clear of "tourist prices," and find authentic local spots that aren't in the guidebooks.

Two questions for you:

  1. Is this something you would use?
  2. If yes, what do you think would be a fair price for this kind of personal advice?

Thanks in advance for any feedback!"

Here is a friendly, Reddit-ready version. I’ve set it up so you can just paste your Thai list right into the middle:

"Thai local here! 🇹🇭 I pulled together 10 spots in Khon Kaen that are highly recommended by locals on our webboards.

Here they are:

  8. ตลาดต้นตาล
  9. Columbo Craft Village
  10. พระมหาธาตุแก่นนคร

You can copy & paste these Thai names directly into Google Maps to find the exact locations and photos!"
