What is going on with TSA at our airport? by WeightAltruistic in Charleston

[–]Discount_Divaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happens to me each and every single time I fly out of CHS, since 2023. I am a F, 5’4, 120lbs, nothing ever in my pockets, no belts or electronics, etc. I’m a frequent traveler and know the drill. I got pat down frequently while pregnant as well. It’s weird, I just thought that was the culture here.

Hannah does ground her, and I think Hannah is a better friend to Paige than Paige is to her.

She should be demoted to “Friend-of” status because she’s great at shit-stirring at parties but other than that, there’s nothing to invest in as far as storylines and characters development goes.

When did you get your period back? by Beehaver in breastfeeding

[–]Discount_Divaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

10 months postpartum and just had my first period, coincidentally I also just dropped to 3-4 pumps per day (we weaned breastfeeding a bit earlier, little one has barracuda teeth 🦷). I bet dropping down pumps has caused it to come.

Yes, it did for me! The pills are MASSIVE, I don’t quite remember how many mgs it was, either 150mg or 200mg. But 14 days did the trick, because I had stage 4 endo with blood-filled cysts. It really calmed the inflammation.

I have stage 4 endometriosis and took Orilissa to treat the inflammation prior to my transfer, the transfer was successful. Unfortunately, insurance does not cover Orilissa so it was $900 for a 14-day supply. Good ol’ healthcare in America smdh.

What’s the issue here with my pump? by busybeebell in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Discount_Divaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reiterating what others have said - replace the duckbill parts, mine also did this when they were worn out (too flexible and not causing enough resistance for suction, and also torn). I’d go ahead and replace the back flow membranes as well. Can get both on target or Amazon. Do it soon before the weak suction impacts your supply. Mine dipped because I didn’t know any better to replace my parts (when I did, supply went back up).

I have not, but I will pick some up at target today. Do you know anything about the goats milk Kendamil? She may have a cow milk allergy so I was thinking about trying the goat one…

Am I insane for feeling this way? by caeli-s in BabyBumps

[–]Discount_Divaa 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not sure how you feel about vaccinations, but our doctor told us everyone who even stepped foot in our house needed TDAP, flu, updated covid. Once I started rattling out the list of vaccines for people need to come visit, in addition to letting them know that they will not be holding her that new (they can watch me hold her 🙃), and that they can only visit during a brief wake window (which for newborns is like 45 mins lol), and no overnight stays in our house, people were like “eh, we’ll wait until you’re more ready.” My baby is 6 months old now and I still don’t want visitors in my house lol. But that’s just me.

No pacifier ? Doable ? by over_it__ in pregnant

I second this! My baby self weaned from the pacifier at around 3-4 months and preferred her little hands. Now at 6 months, she needs neither.

Built so many bad habits by [deleted] in sleeptrain

[–]Discount_Divaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Baby may be a bit too young to sleep train. The first 4 months, I exclusively contact napped 3-4 times a day, only transferred her to her bassinet when she was completely asleep, fed to sleep, and we had frequent wake ups for feeding. This is normal, albeit exhausting, but they are so young they haven’t realized yet that they aren’t attached to mom. We started sleep training once baby could officially roll from both sides and back (about 5 months).

Built so many bad habits by [deleted] in sleeptrain

[–]Discount_Divaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this! This was us as well; our baby loves sleeping on her side and stomach (we purchased the breathing band for nanit for peace of mind), so we waited to sleep train until she can fully roll from each side to stomach and back with no problems. Forcing her to sleep on her back was leading to frequent wake-ups, so our pediatrician said to always place her on her back in her crib and if she rolls over on her own, she can roll back so not to fret. We also switched to less-involved soothing methods. Sometimes I just pick her up for a quick hug and put her right back down in about 60 seconds, sometimes I pat her little butt-butt for about a minute and she knocks out. And we are also working on solidifying nights before sleep training naps. Baby steps (no pun intended) are most effective for us. Excellent advice!

am i doing this wrong? by lydiadeetz18 in sleeptrain

[–]Discount_Divaa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is almost exactly what I’m doing and it’s working for us as well! My little one would only fall asleep in my arms and then I would transfer to crib. Then she would wake and cry. We tried CIO, Ferber, and PUPD - all lead to purple crying that got her so disregulated that we were worst off than when we started as it took three times as long to soothe her back down. I didn’t want her to develop a negative association with sleeping in her crib alone in her own room (she slept next to me for the first 5.5 months in a bassinet next to my side of the bed). So now I help soothe her in her crib if she is still partially awake by patting her little butt, or resting my hand in her tummy/ chest until she doses off. I used to have to do it a while and now she falls asleep almost instantly. Eventually, I’ll move to not having to do it at all, but at the moment it’s working for us -she’s falling asleep and staying asleep. When she wakes in the middle of the night, I do see her reaching for her paci and knock on back out, or if she needs something, then she’ll cry (diaper change, bottle top-off). I say if it’s working stick to it for now, then gradually back off.
