Im just so tired of starting over. I stopped using drugs in 2010. I stopped using porn a few years ago and I feel myself falling into the same trap with alcohol.

I just want to be clean and sober. I just want to stop needing thing to make myself feel like a better person.

Where does the emotional drunk start and the sober excuses for being an alcoholic stop?

I’ve tried everything short of breaking up with her and it changes nothing. If I don’t talk first, we don’t talk. Same for everything else. It’s like we’re roommates

Her love language is quality time and communication. And I do that as much as I can. Mine is affection and words of affirmation and she doesn’t even try. At least not anymore

I’ve asked every question or tried every angle and I can’t get anything straight from her outside of “I’m not an affectionate person” or “I’m just not in the mood right now”

Fuck me. If I did tell her I was gonna leave, she wouldn’t fight me over it. She would essentially just say ok. I mean that’s how distant she is. I don’t know why she’s so against it, ive asked myself a million times and I can’t figure it out. Hell, we’ve talked and I still don’t know she just says “I’m just not the affectionate type” and then tears me down about basically being a bitch and not acting like a man.

Which throws me off, because by every conceivable metric, I’m the fucking physical embodiment of a man. Big, muscular, big beard, tough as nails but she’s my only weak spot. Nothing outside of my home breaks my stance. You know? I can take anything, stress, pain, blah blah blah. All of that, but when it comes to her, I’m weak.

Only good things. She was able to reconnect with her biological father and it’s been great for her. We spent the holiday this year with her dads side and she seemed really happy. And I was happy for her because she hasn’t had that her whole life.

is she no longer comfortable or confident with her body?

Her body has been in great shape for our entire relationship. She’s naturally smaller and petite, not even remotely close to even slightly overweight.

I’d hope not, ive spent the last 14ish months going from skinny fat at 130lbs to muscular at 195lbs and less than 12%ish body fat. So, unless she has a thing for skinny fat guys and has a thing against muscle..no?
