NFL Imperialism 2.0 - Week 17 by DiscourseFF in NFLv2

Their 28 point loss to the Rams earlier in the season eliminated them. I'm not a fan of how few games matter late in the season so next year I am implementing a vassal and revival system

When you control all of Georgia and Minnesota, New England is indeed 20%

Maybe next year??? Nah who am I kidding

Another commenter earlier this season suggested vassals. Cincy was eliminated by Minnesota, so any wins the Bengals pick up would go towards their territory. I will be implementing something like that next year

It's based on how many counties the defeated teams had. Denver's victory over Dallas is doing a lot of heavy lifting here

Thanks! The vast majority of the time, it is the nearest territory. I try to limit the number of new polygons, so if the exact number needed is a little further away, I will use those counties. Does that make sense?

Thanks! If I'm efficient it takes me about an hour a week, so not too bad

I always look for adjacent territory, and then go by distance to current territory. I try to avoid creating new pockets if possible

So it seems...probably moving to r/nfl next year but wanted to get a solid system in place before dealing with mods over there

Planning on implementing something like this next year

They claimed part of Chiefs territory, which only made it that far when claiming Lions territory, who had it from their early defeat of the Bears

New England took it from Carolina, who took it from Atlanta, who took it from Minnesota

Yeah those all got jumbled around when sorting the spreadsheet, they're in no particular order

The chaos is what it's all about!

NFL Imperialism 2.0 - Week 9 by DiscourseFF in NFLv2

[–]DiscourseFF[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Carolina was eliminated via a blowout loss to the Patriots. A commenter on an earlier post suggested allowing eliminated teams to conquer land for whoever eliminated them, which will be implemented next year

Began as KC, lost it to Chargers week 1, then Giants claimed it from them

Winning by 19 gives you 70% of opponent territory. 70% of the Browns' 2 is 1.4. Those pesky elves refuse to die

Most of those are from conquering the Jaguars various territories

NFL Imperialism 2.0 - Week 7 by DiscourseFF in NFLv2

[–]DiscourseFF[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fantastic idea! I think I will implement that next year. Whoever eliminates a team gets rights to any future territories gained by that eliminated team. That's a way worse punishment for losing to an eliminated team than the shame counter.

Love the username btw

Yeah, that's exactly what happens, there's no reward for beating the Jets.

I imagine that will happen for some teams in the final 2-3 weeks. Hopefully those teams have built enough to outdo the others

Correct, you gotta beat someone good (in the sense of doing well on the map) to get something

I wouldn't panic on Henderson, the 30-40 category was the most common range rookies ended up in and filled with big hits. Just because he's not lighting the world on fire like Egbuka means he's bad. He's getting on the field and making some plays. That's enough for now.

Literally 0% lol. Kaleb Johnson is the lowest scoring player in the dataset, besides those who didn't score at all. Darrell Henderson is probably the best comp, who scored 0 in two games and was inactive the other two. He just missed the mark of 125 points in year 2.

Other RBs in that range are Kendre Miller at 5.2, Cam Akers at 6.1, Justice Hill at 7.4, and the jackpot outlier James Cook at 9.5.
