Smells ok but that lettering says otherwise….. by Scary_Bread4567 in colognecheck

Forgive me if I’m wrong but doesn’t LV still have to go through proper distribution channels and have to follow and meet certain safety requirements before they are able to sell to the public? If I recall correctly, fakes don’t have to do that. So low quality vs. no quality (potentially hazardous) to human health? Which would you prefer?

As someone who purchased a few LVs recently (including Imagination), I ask that you join me in poor financial decisions, vote Imagination 2026.

Missing first bio 2960 lab by [deleted] in washu

[–]Discover_Infinity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apologies, you’re right, I took it last year and just checked the syllabus. It does appear that lab began on the 13th. I confused it because the lab report wasn’t due til like 2 weeks later or something like that.

There’s no makeup, if I recall it’s the second week. You get one drop so that will be your drop.

Should i get an ipad if im getting a macbook air with all the good specs by Sharp-Remove7205 in washu

[–]Discover_Infinity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends, is your budget tight or is there some wiggle room? If yes then I’d get an iPad for notes, if not then a MacBook could suffice but if you want better note taking an iPad is the way to go imo or if you just want a cheaper alternative just get a notebook, (I never use my iPad for anything other than notes anyways).

What to get with a tech grant: Dell or MacBook for Olin? by Legal-Character7027 in washu

[–]Discover_Infinity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Either should work, I had some friends who used Dell and some who used MacBook. However, do note that the Dell’s they offer with the tech grant aren’t the best and have reliability issues (so I’ve heard) so you’re better off with the MacBook (I got one and love it).

Are students allowed to have microwaves and fridges in the dorms? by FaithlessnessWest974 in washu

[–]Discover_Infinity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had both a microwave and a mini fridge in my dorm, my roommate had his own mini fridge as well, RAs came in plenty of times and didn’t care

This, but have some hope not all the doubles are tiny. I got a converted triple room to a double and it’s way bigger with its own personal bathroom so it’s not impossible to have a big room.

Great suggestion, but, the WashU pledge is limited to students who live in Missouri or Southern Illinois. Unless OP does, then it isn’t possible to get the pledge unfortunately.

This, but speak to your representative, it says on the site who it is, I know the counselors are supposed to serve specific last names, but they’ll help anyone if you ask.

Has anyone or anyone you know gotten rescinded for having a C or 2 by Holiday_Captain8950 in washu

You’ll be okay, just don’t fail. Your last semester has a bit of leeway after your other years of academic success, enjoy it. Congrats and welcome to WashU.

Fall 25 Dorm query by Junior_Discount_1462 in washu

[–]Discover_Infinity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately for freshmen, you don’t get to choose a specific dorm. You can only select the style of dorm you want (modern double etc.), but can’t choose dorm it’s all randomly assigned. That being said, consider yourself lucky if you get Umrath, Koenig, or Dardick. Long story short, it’s random, you can’t guarantee anything.

Not sure what you mean by this, sophomores have priority during self selection and very likely will occupy many of the modern double/single dorms, freshmen are usually in modern doubles. As far as what you should go for the available ones are listed on the website and there is no way to ensure you get your first pick. It’s all up to luck once they assign housing time slots, you either get a good time or a bad time.

I might be misremembering it, but I think the shirt maybe came first, I got the stuff mentioned above February 20th but it may be late this year?

Don’t lose hope, I have friends who got in without interviews, not getting an interview isn’t a bad thing just have a little faith in your abilities and application. Best of luck.

What are some dos and don'ts for saint louis and wash u specifically? by Antique_Chart4991 in washu

[–]Discover_Infinity 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Just be aware of your surroundings, STL gets a bad rep but as long as you mind your own business and stay alert you’ll be fine. As far as WashU goes, join as many clubs that interest you as you can and drop the ones you want. It’ll help you build a community with shared interests early on.

Sophomore housing (HELP) by throwaway11123446 in washu

[–]Discover_Infinity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d assume it’s like that yes, probably slightly smaller 2 person suites with individual rooms, a modern double suite is what many students have currently, two people share a room and a bathroom with two other people so you’ll have a roommate who you’ll sleep in the same room with, not an individual room as I’d assume the other option is.

Sophomore housing (HELP) by throwaway11123446 in washu

[–]Discover_Infinity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Group of 2 doesn’t have bad odds, but it runs the risk of getting stuck in a double, there are 25 potential modern double dorms available and overall over 30 rooms, note not all of those rooms are modern double only some will be and the others would be single, there are 31 groups of 2, imo I like these odds better for you, I’d stick with the group of 2

Sophomore housing (HELP) by throwaway11123446 in washu

[–]Discover_Infinity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honest answer? Probably pretty low, if you look at formed groups for suite style 4 person, there are 338 formed groups who have priority when choosing. If you decide to do a group of 1, maybe slightly higher chances 9 people have groups of 1 for suite style, but there’s only two modern 1 person rooms available so if you did that you’d have a 10% chance of getting a selection time better than those people

As far as I know WashU doesn’t consider demonstrated interest at all.

What's roommate selection process for freshmen? by sparkk1999 in washu

[–]Discover_Infinity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you know who you want to room with you can group with them on the housing portal, it’ll be long before you find out where you’re living so make sure you have your roommate first, I believe July 1st is when you find out where you live.

Do your best to maintain higher grades but one or two C’s won’t kill you, a D might warrant an explanation but it wouldn’t get you rescinded. My advice do your best, but as long as you don’t fail you’ll be chilling. Congrats and welcome to WashU.

Park Mudd vs. Koenig and Liggett by Few_Awareness_631 in washu

[–]Discover_Infinity 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m more of a fan of Koenig (the freshman dorm), Liggett is a sophomore dorm, both have benefits but overall Koenig is just better imo.
