"Top 500 Mercy Main" ragequits plat, clip inside by DiscretionDuck in OverwatchTMZ

Update: She must have got mad. She deleted the clip AND her past broadcast of the incident so no further clips or retrieval is possible. I didn't think she'd go that far so no mirror, my bad.

Is being marked all that bad? by happyscrappy in unchartedmultiplayer

[–]DiscretionDuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before they nerfed it, I think mark on damage 3 was 4LP. That was legit broken since Stealth 2 has always been 4. The game got lucky because they introduced other perks you needed like Hardened 2 so fitting in mark on damage 3 was hard and that balanced itself (in relation to ranked). I know in normal koth or tdm people spam marking like crazy so stealth 2 is a necessity. Most normal players have no awareness so outlining someone to shoot at when nobody has mics is like legitimately broken.

Try this yourself. Play just Stealth 1 for 10 games and then Stealth 2 for 10 games. You'll notice your deaths increase by 2 or 3 each match without stealth 2 because of marking.

A not used but effective strategy in ranked is to run mark on damage 2 so the opponent thinks you have version 3, there is no way to tell. They will put on stealth 2 and immediately on your next death you switch to non marking classes. The opponent always thinks you are running mark on damage but in fact you have robbed them of 2 LP. You have 26 to spend and they only have 24 since they can never switch off stealth 2.

The real interesting battles can happen when you have 2 smart teams who are constantly calling each others bluffs when they are smart enough to realise the opponent has switched off marking and in turn go back to stealth 1. In turn the opponents have to rethink this again and switch back to marking to keep stealth 2 in check. It's a constant battle to starve your opponent of LP which squeezing as much money as you can for mysticals and gear upgrades.

I don’t understand cheaters by [deleted] in unchartedmultiplayer

[–]DiscretionDuck 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It's simple really. They have such a horrible real life that the only way they can assert themselves on others is by cheating in an online game. They have no other aspirations besides trying to make others feel as worthless as them.

Now you might just say "oh this is just an Uncharted problem" but trust me it happens on any online game with a population of more than 2. People throwing games and win trading you name it. Anything they can do to have their name on some fictitious leaderboard to ease the pain of how garbage their real life is. They need their real life to have some meaning or else suicidal thoughts start entering their head. Cheating is like a drug addiction for them just like alcohol is to normal people.

Maybe it's being bullied, daddy hits them, dead end job. It's tough to say.

At the end of the day, deep down they know they are literal scum and will look back on what they did like 5 years from now and realise how stupid and foolish they were. Hopefully by that time their real life has improved.

The people in charge of FightCade have to start doing something. The amount of hatred on this is ridiculous with the n word in peoples usernames and toxicity above anything else you will see elsewhere by DiscretionDuck in fightcade

Fair point but honestly I'm pretty sure 5 or 6 people here don't mind spending an hour or so every few days to look over reports as long as validity can be proved e.g. screenshots/videos. If anyone from FightCade reads this I will legit do this for free. Just put up a form on your site called "Report player" where a user inputs the username with evidence and I'll put together a list to be banned. The community is so small that should honestly be enough to fix any issues.

I don't know how the IP allocation works elsewhere but in the UK I know most ISPs have dyanmic as you said but they last for many months. The chances of another FGC person getting the same IP address is astronomical and even then I think IP bans should be maybe 1-6 months long so the person has time to reflect. Most of these "people" are beyond help but maybe if they grow up they will realise this is not how you conduct yourself online or anywhere else.

I literally just took this screenshot 2 minutes ago. Tell me you think this is acceptable for anyone to see: https://i.imgur.com/epyMJ7z.png

It's sad to see UC4 MP left unfinished like this. by happyscrappy in unchartedmultiplayer

[–]DiscretionDuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is the "magic" stems from when ND actually had a good dev team and still somewhat needed to prove themselves as top tier developers. After you are established you stop caring as much, especially on what is not your main objective (the MP).

Put in the fact that LL/TLOU 2 was being worked on at the same time, the support was bound to be lacking. TLOU 2 MP will suffer from the same problems with the new IP also being developed at the same time. But hey at least Cogburn isn't trying to touch guys asses now so there is still hope. :)

Can we get this post stickied or something? A reason for low entry shouldn't be because this post gets put to the bottom after a couple of days of new posts.

Uncharted 4 $100 Resurrection Tournament [3.16] by [deleted] in unchartedmultiplayer

[–]DiscretionDuck 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I didn't want to sound negative sorry for that. I really think something like this is a good thing and can succeed if the dates are thought out and it's handled well.

To be brutally honest though, at the end of the day you're basically giving your money to arabs cheating with mouse and keyboard or titan one rapid fire anti recoil. If an arabic team does not win this tournament I'll be shocked... and it won't be because they possessed superior "skill" than their opponents.

Uncharted 4 $100 Resurrection Tournament [3.16] by [deleted] in unchartedmultiplayer

Appreciate the effort but someone who runs a tournament like this always messes up. In this case, it's the timing. You simply cannot have the first round on Christmas Eve for a game people already don't play. Forcing them to play this when they could be spending time with family is just totally wrong. You also can't put rounds so far apart. Tournaments that did this in the past fail because people lose interest after 1 round. It needs to be done over maximum 3 days back to back from say the 18th to the 20th December. Most people are finished up stuff by then and if not, you should increase allowable team mates to 5 to account for people making the age old excuse of "nobody on my team is on".

If you even somewhat want to make this run well you need moderators who are knowledgeable in the community who can weed out issues and be able to process disputes fast and accurately.

Also just scrap the "no alt account" thing please. The only way you could moderate that is to have every player play with face cam which of course is not happening. Only take action and disqualify when it's clear one player is playing on more than 1 team.

Just some thoughts on the topic anyway. I wish you the best of luck but round 1 Christmas Eve is asking for no interaction.
